In an interview Thursday on CNBC, Donald Trump broke with tired clichés about the evils of federal debt accumulation. "I am the king of debt," he said. "I love debt. I love playing with it."

But he replaced fearmongering about debt with an even more alarming notion — a bankruptcy of the United States federal government that would incinerate the world economy.

"I would borrow, knowing that if the economy crashed, you could make a deal," Trump said. "And if the economy was good, it was good. So therefore, you can't lose."

With his statement, Trump not only revealed a dangerous ignorance about the operation of the national monetary system and the global economic order, but also offered a brilliant case study in the profound risks of attempting to apply the logic of a private business enterprise to the task of running the United States of America.

Some people just want to watch the world burn.
I'm ok with this.
If you remember, the government shut down under Obama. It's going to self destruct because of all the crooked people that operate it, we will finally have DOTR, and we can create a government that's not for the corporation, by the corporation.

Let it burn.

We need this crisis. We needed it last year. If we don't crash it by the end of this year it will be a disaster.

You are an uneducated retard and your opinion is irrelevant.

Get an actual degree and read some books on finance then come back here.
>>

>>
Economist here.

There is nothing wrong with the debt we hold as a country.

Remember how China holds so much of our debt? Yeah, they've been selling it back to us and to other countries in an attempt to keep their currency fixes going and not crash their economy over and over again.

People buy US debt because it's a stable investment, with next to zero risk involved.

Most of our debt comes in the form of bonds that mature little by little, and it's also constantly revolving.

The last time we paid off our debt, it caused a recession that we needed to borrow to get out of. That's why we put Jackson on the 20, as a "This dumbass HATES federally backed currency, let's troll him."
>>

I know that I made yuuuge shekels since august of HUI and TVIX.
Because the stock markets and the investment banking is a huge bubble that's can't be contained by the quantitative easing anymore.

They had to let it crash in 2008, instead they held afloat of helicopter money, but there is only so long you can do it.
The economy doesn't exist, it's a hoax and the markets volatility proves the traders and investors have lost the trust in it.

The Fed and the ECB can't announce another quantitative easing because while the oil markets are stagnant it will make the currencies spin into hyperinflation, neither they can raise the interest rates, because the moment they do the bubble will pop.
The global financial collapse is being postponed by the use of reserves since September and every bank is bracing for it and introducing emergency measures.

But the longer they keep doing it, the bigger the crash will be. It's all over, faggot, it has been over for a while.

I will make yuuuuge shekels of it and finally buy the Lamborghini I want, you will starve, because you should've gotent a real degree.

Bubble means overvaluation. The stock markets are overvalued by about 120%, the loan banking by about 300% which means most of the economy is air, held together by printing money.

There are more bubbles than you can count, stock bubble, tech bubble, debt bubble, loan bubble (especially the US student loans), housing bubble in Europe, production bubble in Asia etc etc etc.

Bursting means the economy is being called out on it's bullshit and returns to nominal values, but snowballs way before them at the initial stage.

The economy didn't make ANY profit, it's been shrinking.
See these August and February crashes? They've been only contained by burning reserve money to bail out the markets.

Sure. Listen to Trump, he knows his shit. The economy has to be carefully crashed as soon as possible, by "carefully" I mean preparing the banks and the blue chip corporations for emergency measures, bailing out the critical sectors be forehead and breaking up the banking.

When it does crash by it's own, despite any measures it will destroy everything on it's way.

Asked whether the United States needed to pay its debts in full, or whether he could negotiate a partial repayment, Mr. Trump told the cable network CNBC, “I would borrow, knowing that if the economy crashed, you could make a deal.”

He added, “And if the economy was good, it was good. So, therefore, you can’t lose.”

You don't make any sense. I haven't read the article because it's butthurt Vox clickbait, but in the OP the quote is "I would borrow". If Trump is the one borrowing, and he isn't able to do it now, I assumed he was referring to putting the government into debt. Not the public. Such a thing seems to make perfect sense to me. No imaginary debt is going to change the domination of the US over the world. There is currently no possible way for us to go down without taking down every competitor with us. So who in their right mind would actually try to make a big deal out of our debt?

90% of the jap blue chips stocks are currently owned by Japanese central bank. Is that what you are suggesting? It pretty much over for Japan, with China shrinking they will be obliterated by the end of this summer.

And they aren't even doing it for that long, since 2003.

US does the same thing since 2008. It's almost a decade too. The whole thing will last no longer then the autumn of 2017, in best case scenario, in which they will keep the whole thing from snowballing after the Asian collapse. So how is Trump wrong?
>>
>>73203652
so... it's taken out of context.

> "We're paying a very low interest rate," he said. "What happens if that interest rate goes two, three, four points up? We don't have a country. I mean, if you look at the numbers, they're staggering."
>Pressed to elaborate on his remarks, Mr. Trump did appear to step back. He said that he was not suggesting a default, but instead that the government could seek to repurchase debt for less than the face value of the securities. The government, in other words, would seek to repay less money than it borrowed.

he's right?
what's the alternative?

If anything, Trump has more experience with debt than most and would be equipped with the tools to handle it. He understands and respects debt as a financial tool.

Yes.

But we also need to prepare the people for it.

This is tricky. But we'll need to work out the kinks one problem at a time.

Starting with currency - I suggest a merit system. I heard that idea on /pol/ recently.

Ask "how can we use technology to avoid catastrophe".

For Law I suggest using something like facebooks way of taking what you say and spitting something relevant to you into account. That could implement something that is more of a step towards direct democracy.

Imagine if the government got an estimation of the poilicies required by people through this.

Now how can we do something similar with our economy?

I didn't say it was permanent.

It's a temporary solution.

To reestablish a working monetary system that is fair to the people.

Law has not caught up with the monetary system. That is the problem here.

We need to get that up to speed and develop a way to control the monetary system.

The problem is allocative efficiency - we have too few computer technicians and engineers.

Be flexible, we might be able to switch between communism and capitalism.

We used to do it here in Aus.

Restriction of ideas has never benefited society. That being said, within reason.

I believe the idea of "communism" and "capitalism" will not exist.

We'll steal ideas from both to keep this society afloat.

This is done incorrectly at this point in time (surveillance being implemented in capitalist societies, etc)
