I think the 'embassy' wasn't an embassy but a poorly concealed storage facility for arms that the CIA were collecting from Libya to ship to ISIS/FSA in Syria, the mob wanted arms so they went in to steal them and killed everyone in there. Obama/Clinton obviously wanted to distance themselves as much as possible from this so they let the whole thing burn down.

Currently watching the entire October hearing of Clinton... fucking thing won't even start, because it the second speaker Democrat on the committee is going on a long tirade about how the whole thing is a waste of time and "designed to go after Clinton." Even after the chairman just pointed out that this committee was the first one to have access to hundreds of emails, any of the emails from Stevens, numerous witnesses, etc. The Dem from Maryland isn't addressing that and is just saying that the whole thing is a waste of money aimed at tarnishing Clinton and that the Republicans simply didn't like the answers they got from the previous congressional hearings.
