Being rich amplifies your personality, so it can make you a big asshole or a pretty cool person, just depends on you.
The problem is the following: being born into a rich family usually means you are raised spoiled which does not have a good impact on your personality, so you are more likely to come out of it an asshole.
If you have parents that love you and keep you grounded, you can grow up to be a great human being that contributes a great deal to society and helps many other human beings out that didn't get such a fortunate start in life as you.
I have a friend of mine who is extremely wealthy, he comes from generations of wealth and he helped me pay off my student loans on my engineering degree. We knew each other at university and I was a friend of his, two people from completely different worlds but I treated him like an equal and didn't even know he was super rich until he cut me a check for 20k. He drove a beat up honda and wore normal clothes, nothing fancy even had a really old smartphone.
Dude is a cool guy and I still hang out with him but we never do things big, his whole life is modest even though he has a fortune at his disposal.
Funny story, I took him shooting with me on some land my uncle owns, took him out and we shot my guns, a shotgun, a 10/22, an AR, and an AK47.
Fast forward half a year. He invites me to a piece of undeveloped land his family owns.

In Greece the richest folks are the shipowners. Usually normal ones they have around 5+ ships (although there are some with 10, 20 etc), each one worth min 20-25 million. Due to my schooling i knew the children of many of them. Depending on their parents and how old the money is in the family they act from wasting degenerates to proper people who's name is not know to the public. The most notable families are very disclosed and strict about that
