As my fellow Romanian poster said, we have just started experiencing the kind of freedom the West does, the kind of freedom that slowly corrupts the cores and values of the country and its populace.
After 26 years of capitalism and democracy, we are just living in an illusion that we are free. Our politicians are corrupt, they are elected by the masses (usually stupid, uneducated people) and our whole industry has been destroyed by privatization back in the '90, when most of the rich people got even richer - oligarchs.
As far as I'm concerned, if nothing significant will happen in the next 10 years (significant as in a war, a global political meltdown, a global catastrophe), Europe will be completely changed.
