I've seen meditation mentioned a lot lately as a cure for nearly everything. It's not part of the Westen culture though and associated with all that new age hippie bullshit.
So what's the deal here? Is meditation legit or degenerate?

Western meditation is just reading and reflecting aka thinking but in a religious sense. Christian monks practiced it quite a bit. Meditation is just the equivalent of step back and take a deep breath, albeit blown out of proportions

The best way to meditate as described by a Buddhist monk is:

>imagine your mind is a mountain
>your thoughts are just clouds passing by the peak of the mountain
>let them pass don't fight their existence
>don't dwell on them
>breathe naturally
The point is not to have no thoughts but to be in the present moment. The harder you try to clear your mind the harder you will fail. It should be effortless. Thoughts will flow naturally in and out of your consciousness but eventually they will flow slower and calmer until you are at a state of peace.

Meditating in the proper poses with proper technique (half lotus, full lotus, perfect pose, etc) turns you into the red pill
The meditation that the joos push on you isn't the proper form and yoga which the joos love to push is nothing without proper meditation along with it
