yeah man that stuff is rough to get a hold of at first. when I was stationed at FT Richardson my platoon did a field exercise in February for the month. each squad pulled a sled and we snow shoed out to are AO which was 20KM away as a bird flys. fucking react to ambush and some soldiers rifle bolts froze forward because they didn't use arctic clp. we carried all are water, food, shelter and stoves and fuel. I mean now I look back at it, it was fun but at the time.

Seeing the average US soldier seems to be of Mexican origin these days it's not weird that they're struggling. I taught my colleague how to burrow under a snow during a camping trip in NH back in 2009, most people thought I was insane and that I would freeze to death.
