Yes we should change that. When that amendment was created, the problem of illegal immigration was not really a thing that happened and no one intended for the clause to allow criminals to shit out a baby just over the border and have a free ticket to stay in the US. Some of the people who voted against it at the time feared this very thing, but the proponents assured everyone that this was not the case. The fact of the matter is this OP: You're parents are criminals and the only reason you have citizenship in this country is because of your parents' criminal acts. If you were a true American you would be asking your parents to turn themselves in or return to where they belong.

If the policy of birthright citizenship were to be ended, which would be very hard to do, it would only apply going forward. Citizenship can't be revoked retroactively.
