Also, instead of "repairing" a piece of armor by wasting a similar piece of armor, you actually take raw ores and make your own shit. How is that not superior in every way? The skill tree is superior to previous ES games in every way. So what if they took out "classes" and "abilities"? It's a more organic system where your play style determines your character instead of tieing you into a class before you have even played the game.
