Not even. The government is doing absolutely no enforcement. Deportations are down almost 50% since last year and immigrants are being allowed to sit on welfare despite the law requiring they only gain entry of they're able to finance themselves.

Reality is counter intuitive. Increased border security from 86-2010 backfired by reducing the outflow of migrants back to Mexico. It makes it harder, yes, but it raises how much they have to pay their smugglers to get across. This means they stay in the USA for a longer period of time to pay this money back.

So what you're saying is that by enforcing a law, criminals do things to circumvent that law, and that's the end of the story.
It's not like the people who get through would be caught by another layer of enforcement beyond the actual wall and the first line of defense (border security). It's not like finding and evicting an illegal after a few years under the radar is better than the illegal never getting caught, which is what happens now.
