There is obviously a major difference between the USA and Sweden's foreign policy. Because of our foreign policy failures in the past, including NAFTA, we saw an increase in illegal immigration. Illegal immigration would still be illegal, but remember that even Reagan granted amnesty to illegals. If an immigrant is proving to be a productive member of society, and not raping or killing anybody, and working, and are working toward a path to citizenship, then they deserve citizenship. A path to citizenship should become easier because USA is different in the way that an overwhelming majority of people from the USA are immigrant. Now, keep in mind that decriminalizing immigration isn't the same thing as decriminalizing crime committed by immigrants. If immigrants don't commit crime and are productive, and are not committing crimes, then they deserve citizenship just as much as anyone else who pays taxes, works hard, and abides by the law.
Obviously, for some immigrants in Sweden; this is not the case -- many of your Muslim immigrants do not pay taxes, do not work, commit crimes, and even want to change the country to Sharia law. These people are not part of the social contract, and thus do not deserve the benefits of the social contract.

A candidate has never felt more honest to me, say what you will about him, but for the last few decades, every interview where somebody mentioned running for president, Trump always seemed sincere about the topic.

Higher taxes will incentivise businessed to take even more jobs overseas. We see this already, as the US has the highest corporate tax rates in the developed world. With higher taxes hurting the economy, the GDP would shrink, which would ultimately result in lower tax revenue overall.
