There is literally nothing wrong with using imperial measurement for day to day actives, which is literally what those measurements were invented for. Inches and feet are very intuitive units for their scale, Fahrenheit provides a properly granular level of measurement for temperature as it relates to weather and human comfort, pounds and kilograms are extremely comparable. Obviously, anything requiring high tolerance sensitivity and especially chemical stoichiometry should be done with metric... and for the most part it, it already is in america.
