Height is a result of genetics + proper nutrition while developing.
Genetics only puts a max and min range on stature for any particular individual, but where within that range they wind up is dependent upon how healthy they are, how well fed they are, whether they smoke, lift weights, etc. during long bone growth, epiphyseal fusion, etc.
