I think the issue is that Men are right-wing and Fascist from nature, and women are leftist and liberal from nature. This is caused by the fact women usually tend to children, while men go out and fight wars or build houses.
Being the strongest men would naturally take the leading roll in a relationship, but a woman would still be able to advise her husband, and make him slightly more liberal. This is interesting when factored into Religion.
Christianity and Islam are almost exactly the same religion, but today they're so different. How is this? Simple. Women had roles and men had roles- the men were the hunter-gatherers, farmers, herdsmen, builders, and the women were the weavers, cooks, potters, and caregivers.
Somehow women got the idea that keeping house and caring for the family was a cage they needed to be freed from and not a societal and familial responsibility.
OP you're reducing a lot of complex things into a binary choice that, frankly, doesn't make any sense.
