Disagree to an extent. I think the lines were already pre-determined because of their polarizing approach. The kind of people BLM caters to will only view these things positively.
I don't think this shifts the size or strength of the groups, it has always been a question of whether their group is big enough or not, and it still is.

I agree that groups like BLM, CAIR, and socialists hurt the liberal cause. However, the fact is that a lot of moderates don't like Trump regardless of their feelings about these groups. Trumps loyal followers may have their beliefs and assumptions affirmed when seeing these groups, but it will not drive people on the fence into Trumps camp.
In order for Trump to stand a chance at winning, Hillary would have to get put in prison a week before the GE. Trumps negatives are so high, that it's very probably that he will lose 40+ states to Hillary along with costing the right the Senate, the House, and the Supreme Court

I think the worst part about BLM is that it's just wrong. Even if you use the most inflated numbers (their own) for blacks killed by police the difference between whites killed by police per capita to blacks is negligible. And when you adjust for rate of violent crime blacks are underrepresented in people killed by police. All of this is public information. Anyone can look up the stats on crimes by demographic on the fbi's website. And everyone says white lives are so damn important, but name a single white person killed by police. Name one. Nobody ever has an answer to that question. They can name a handful of the black lives that matter so little, but they can't name a single white person. Those all important white people who's lives matter so much, and you can't name a single one. What kind of mental gymnastics do you have to do to come to that conclusion?
