Here's the thing -
There never was a fighting in Crimea. Russia managed to take it over with infrastructure intact and not a single shot fired (Well not exactly, there were three or four deaths but these were mostly caused by individuals being trigger happy or ahving personal feuds rather than part of organised fighting) with a support of majority of the population.
The eastern Ukraine is where the civil war is raging.

There was no fighting in Crimea at any point. The annexation was peaceful.
The fighting was in the north and central eastern states which was a proxy war between Ukraine funded by the EU and Separatists funded by Russia. The conflict ended over a year ago with a stalemate and a non-aggression truce. Ukraine still claims all the land held by the separatists and maps of the world still draw that land and Crimea as within Ukraine's borders, but that land is now all effectively Russian.
Economic sanctions remain in place against the Russians but the world has already forgotten about Ukraine.

Some major maps show Crimea as disputed territory (and their russian editions show it as Russian) because Russia officialy annexed it. So its kind of like Kashmir.
However Donbas is shown as part of Ukraine everywhere because Russia did not annex it (and their endgame is not annexing it, just securing that Ukraine does not own it)
