All I remember from social studies as a kid is "whites did this to native americans", "whites did this to blacks", "whites did this to jews". Our race was almost never discussed in a positive light. Other races were never talked about negatively.

Jews really did fuck over Germans and take control of the nation after WWI. During WWII they were sent to work camps to later be relocated to Madagascar and the middle east. After the war turned into a full blown world war, these plans were no longer attainable.
Work camp conditions were tough but not really as bad as being a German soldier. Near the end of the war, Russian and Ally troops had destroyed German infrastructure to a point where Germans could no longer provide food and medical supplies to their prisoners of war.
About 500,000 to 1,000,000 of these prisoners died of starvation, injury and exposure to the elements due to this. Many German civilians faced the same fate.
After bombing women and children and causing the death of over a million Japanese / German women and children, Americans needed to justify their actions to come out as the hero. They dubbed the prisoners death as a genocide (which was a result of their bombings) and their nuclear attacks and bomb raids as an act of heroism.
Americans hated the Jews and refused Jewish immigration before the war so in turn they allowed Jews to genocide Palestinians and take their land as well as immigrate to the US so long as they play their role as a perpetual victim despite being the most aggressive and heartless race/religion on Earth (aside from Islam).
