Mostly just a cultural thing. You don't see many black men actually training for strength specific things because fast twitch is slower to develop... But slower does not mean inferior.
Fast twitch muscles are bigger compared to slow twitch(compare marathon vs sprinter). Maybe I was quick to write off blacks in bodybuilding, but it is well documented that those with fast/fast twitch are over all, slower to adapt from training(at least in females, the male study was inconclusive), leading to discouragement from strength specific training.
Add that to the fact they are usually already stronger then the average non-training person to begin with, and there just isn't much motivation.

Often it's a question of interest. Ronnie Coleman would have been a great strongman if he had focused on that instead of bodybuilding. Mark Felix switched from bb to sm late in his life and he still performs at a world-class level in his 50s. Powerlifting doesn't require much explosivity at all, that's weightlifting.
I've only recently been fucking around a bit with weightlifting and I'm terrible, despite being fairly accomplished at powerlifting, though again, lots of the weightlifters I've been training with aren't quite as strong as me in terms of raw strength, just more explosive and efficient.
Strongman on the other hand, really is just an all-round contest of athleticism. Lots of them are also former (or currently) playing professional sports, like Hafþór (basketball) or Pudzianowski (rugby, MMA)

In terms of explosiveness vs endurance top down . Strongman does require explosive movements for some events, but it's as much as an endurance event as it is raw strength, when compared to something like Olympic lifts.
Also, there are a ton of other factors, ligament length, raw grit, neuron activation that goes into strength besides muscle type that influences strength. I just figured since Strongman is more a sport then anything else, slow twitch wouldn't be at near the disadvantage that it is compared to things like Olympic lifts.

Outside of Iceland where strongman is the national sport, no one really grows up wanting to be a professional strongman. It's pretty obscure even for strength sports so there's not a lot of money.
The most money is in cross fit right now and even that is a sport dominated by guys who couldn't make it pro in traditional sports.
