Because we were the ideals of the Enlightenment crystallized into form. We fought off the greatest empire the world had ever seen. We were the experiment to see if freedom and liberty could actually flourish under limited government, controlled by the people. It created a massive amount of wealth and liberty for its inhabitants in a short amount of time.
This economic freedom created a country in which enterprise was allowed to flourish. There is a reason most of the technology that makes modern life comfortable and possible came from the United States.
But then all the old school cucks from Europe slithered in and slowly spread their disease throughout our system, slowly destroying it. Once the beacon of hope for the world. As everyone watched our system corrupt, they no longer looked to us as they had before.
