2004: White Island eruption
Yesterday: White Islands erupts again
Throw in a whole heap of major quakes in other areas of the country throughout this time. Nothings changed much.
Although what is now Lake Taupo is a massive crater that erupted during Biblical times. Romans have recorded weather changes at the same time. If that went off again you would wanna get the popcorn and watch. Be the most exciting natural event for the world in millennia.
