I've never owned a gun

I don't have a license

Pic related is 150 dollars. I live in commiefornia, you don't need a license for this

Is it worth it? I just want to have something to defend my house if someone breaks in with a gun. It's 44 caliber and you can pre load 6 in the chamber.

Pls no bully. I will get real guns later but for now, I just want home defense asap. (Plus I've always wanted a revolver just didn't think about black powder)

DONT buy it, especially if you plan on using it for home defence.

It's not a conventional gun and it'll be a pain in the arse to load, re-load and fire, particularly in a stressful situation.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UHLB0NJoVjk watch the dude painstakingly place the caps on. Doing that while a burglar is rummaging through your house?

Just go with a pistol or shotgun, that's what all the farmers round here have for property defence.

I thought America could into guns
>>
>>72337885

What's up with niggers and hi-points? They get them because they're cheap?
>>
It's single action which means you have to cock back the hammer every time you fire. I assume you're not going to be loading it when you need it. Storing black powder like that I'm not sure it would keep well. I don't recommend you use it for self defense. If you do then keep it in a dehumidifier box and still do frequent reloading. Having to rely on that isn't a very good idea.

Just get a license and get a modern pistol like a Glock 19. Is conceal carry legal in California? If it is get a conceal carry license along with it.
>>
>>72337256

Get one with a steel frame.

A company called Krist makes conversion cylinders that will allow you to shoot cartridges (cowboy loads only).

Something like a Remington 1858 is probably your best bet, made by uberti or pietta.

Don't get me wrong, blackpowder guns are cool, but not for home defense.
Also - if you're determined to get a blackpowder, civil-war era weapon, go for a remington-clone, not for a colt. Remingtons are easier to maintain.

Cabelas is probably one of the best brick and mortars you can find. Their ammo prices can be a bit high but its also hard to walk into a mom and pop and have 90 different choices of a single caliber

Another thing I love is the Cabelas Visa card run by Cabelas national bank. There have been quite a few stories of people getting their credit cards/debit cards closed after buying firearms with said credit card/bank account. You dont ever have to worry about that with a Cabelas card.

The big "no" if I remember right are silencers, 50 cals, auto AR like weps, pistol grips on shotguns and certain AR/shotgun mods like a collapsible stocks. Oh and of course the total BS 10 cap mag limit.

Honestly the only one that really effects people is the mag cap limit. Yet for your average person who just wants a handgun of some nature it's no big deal to get one. Guns stores all over the place. The main issue is the cost.

so for the OP. Either save up and get some sort of cheap ass modern handgun, just don't expect to use it at the range for thousands of rounds with out any issues. Get a shotgun or admit that maybe getting a gun right now as a student is not the right move and stick to other home defense shit. I mean if you are really thinking black powder as your go move you might not be ready for gun ownership right now.

A small sight radius DOES make getting on target harder and a longer barrel moves the center of gravity away from the grip which reduces recoil ever so slightly.

However after a range day or 2 you dont really notice it anymore... unless you have a 7/8" nose which even after practicing, will have sight issues

>cz75s are the best 400 buck handgun

I think for home defense a simple revolver of some nature is fine. You're not looking to really put in range time outside of some rounds to get use to shooting the gun.

They are pretty idiot/stress proof and they are a little cheaper too. Home defense is all about having and hopefully never needed to use it. So revolver and of course some way to safely store it. The more people you have around life style wise the more effort one needs to lock it down some how to stop idiots from being idiots.

being everyone has that dumb ass friend who has never been around guns and forgets the #1 rule of treat every gun as it was loaded at all time. Ya know, ma maybe just leave it alone if you happen to stumble over it.

No no go ahead and pick it up there Mr Know nothing about guns while thinking it's a BB gun. Glance over and he is holding all "what is this?" and it's more or less pointed at my head. 100% my fault for leaving it out and thank god it was not loaded but still.

Do your friends just barge into your bedroom? How are your friends at risk of grabbing your gun? A single action cap and ball revolver isn't very good for home defense. He would honestly be better off buying a 10/22 and some hollow point .22s than that.

What's the point of building an illegal pipe shotgun when I can build or buy a legal and good one.

Be ready to turn it in when they decide to take it, faggot.

Better than federal prison, lmao.

No, I just think that brand shilling is dumb and so is dressing your self terribly as an adult man. Why would you buy the logo sweatshirt when the plain one is right next to it?

Who the hell reads GQ? I would have to kick my own ass if I wore that outfit. I dont even own a pair of pants that arent Wrangler jeans.

Seriously, wearing that would get you laughed at, or asked if you are trying to sell something.

If you are still home when the gun confiscation begins you are fucked no mater what. You should have left weeks ago

Sorry, I didn't realize you only get flown over.

I don't care to argue with those who don't matter. Same reason I don't argue with third worlders.

Go get a S&W GP100 .357 if you want an absolutely wonderful revolver. If you got some more bucks, get the match grade model. Its a real pleasure to shoot.

Because I liked the logo? It says Cabelas in camo. I own like 10 of them in all different camo patterns.

Yes, I am the guy who buys 7 of the same shirt in different colors and 5 of the same pair of jeans.

Hi Point's slides are made of cheap magnesium, and they use an old school blow back action(why the slide is so bulky). This makes them cheap to produce, and niggers love that. They're good guns for $100 something.
