Father was a far leftist, first a typical hippie, then turned maoist, then back to hippie. Was a journalist in the biggest leftist newspaper. Mother was the same, a socialist activist. She was a lawyer specialised in helping immigrants stay here.
They are both heavily desilusioned now, though. Father is turning into a national socialist without realising it, pretty sure he voted FN at the last regional elections, he said they are the only ones that "wants to defend the workers". And my mother just doesn't vote anymore, thinks all of her activism was foolish.
Most of my family on my father's side have been monarchists basically until after WW1, and then they flirted with fascism. Now they are either conservatives, or nationalists. Good people.
On the mother's side, it's more diverse.

Chock full of Holohoax and Anti-Nazi propaganda. One particular part we discussed was the Myth of how Hitler Snubbed Jesse Owens at the 1936 Olympic Games. The Myth is as follows: Hitler angrily stormed out of the stadium refusing to shake the negro track stars hand after Jesse Owens won his first gold medal. Hitler was angry because Jesse Owens had undermined the nazis "Aryan Supremacy" and Hitler refused to congratulate a subhuman.
The Truth: Hitler was scheduled to leave the stadium at a certain time prior to the event. He adhered to his schedule. Jesse Owens confirmed this many times in Interviews. Hitler attended Other medal ceremonies. Jesse Owens confirmed himself Hitler gave him a friendly wave and he waved back. Also it was a Owens german rival that was the first to congratulate him after the long jump. Luz Long embraced Jesse Owens in friendship and congratulated him after he was defeated in the long jump event.
