but Marx set out the apply dialectical method to history; it wasn't based on what he felt rather what he observed. You may not agree with his conclusion that socialism will happen next - but you can't fault his method of analysis. That's why with have the "orthodox" view of the birth of liberalism being the Marxist one.

Most forms of modern "socialism" is really just an evolved version of champagne socialism married with an obsession with identity politics. Consider the codes of conduct in any social justice group. They all prohibit things like sexism, racism, transphobia etc. Yet classism is only sometimes included, and when it is, it's always toward the end of the list. I've occasionally seen these kinds rules actually make a distinction between transphobia and transmisogyny, yet omit classism entirely.
Indeed if you look at who participates in these groups, you will typically find at least one tranny in each group. But while transgendered people are about 0.1% of the population, poor people are at least around 10%. Yet often you will find essentially no poor people in their meetings. If they truly represented "the people", you would expect to find at least 10-100 poor people for each tranny, yet in reality you would struggle to find one.
The whole movement is just something middle to upper class liberals use to ease their guilt. And they get to feel like they're opressed and "fighting the power", when in reality they are the fucking power. These groups are absolutely full of rich kids complaining about how society oppresses them. Real socialism is dead, perhaps for the best, and what we're left with is only a collection of political support groups for people ashamed of their wealth, race and social standing.
