Why does communism fail?
Couldn't "socialism" have a possibility to work considering we now know which mistakes to avoid?

Human nature. Don't try to alter it

Socialism is the mistake. That's why we avoid it.

It is too centralized. This lead to both real errors and voluntary abuse.

Computers could probably have helped with both.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Project_Cybersyn

>Project Cybersyn was a Chilean project from 1971–1973 during the presidency of Salvador Allende aimed at constructing a distributed decision support system to aid in the management of the national economy. The project consisted of four modules: an economic simulator, custom software to check factory performance, an operations room, and a national network of telex machines that were linked to one mainframe computer.

>After the military coup on September 11, 1973, Cybersyn was abandoned and the operations room was destroyed.

This + Communism fails because one institution cannot run everything. There needs to be a large and diverse group of private institutions to run society, otherwise the one institution will inevitably collapse from being inefficient. And when it does, it takes down the entire society with it. The Communists kept all the inefficient bureaucracies and workers instead of firing them, and the whole thing grew stale and died. Meanwhile, in a Free Market, efficient businesses thrive and inefficient businesses die. This dynamism got us to win the Cold War; private enterprise picked up 'the slack' when Uncle Sam was down.

>Nixon won the economic debate against Khrushchev, and nobody's given him the credit.

Computers would've only delayed the inevitable. The inherent structure of Communism means that the economy starts out strong, and then grows weaker over time, due to inefficiencies it gains overtime.

'state capitalism'

original socialism is the way to go but it'll never happen because people are afraid of stagnation

Trying to fight against Capitalism is like trying to fight against Thermodynamics.

Its just the way things are.
