I did six months in prison for GBH on a police officer. Cunt deserved it. Prison wasn't bad. My sentence was two years, but I got time off for good behaviour. I worked in the library and taught classes in literacy and numeracy as I'm well educated - two degrees bachelors' and masters'. The food was very good and the prison officers were decent people. Doing time is basic but if you work, and get regular visits, it passes fast. I took pride in looking after the library and helping people to read and discuss literature. It also earned me some respect from the hard cases. I never felt threatened as I had the ability to talk to anyone. Without fear. Showing fear or weakness is not a good idea.
The worst thing is having a criminal record. It stays with you forever. This makes employment very difficult as most jobs require a CRB check. I want to be a teacher but it's impossible.
