Oddly enough personally I have trouble with distance running due to fucked up joints.
But I can do 12 three minute consecutive rounds just fine. Or swim for hours.
Really I just hate running with a burning passion. Shit is painful and totally unnecessary. If I had to get someone far away in a short amount of time I would use something with wheels. Short distances are covered by sprinting.
If there is no hurry then walk.
Distance running is pointless as far as I am concerned.
I am in incredible physical shape. Ride my bike 30-50 miles daily. Do tons of push ups and pull ups. Fuck women a lot too, which is also a good work out. Keeps me from going crazy. I also drink 2 fifths a day and smoke 10 grams of weed per day. Thats just who I am, stubborn as fuck and reckless. But hey, at least I'm sexy and I'm totally unphased by booze and weed at parties. Yeah, my ability to be athletic with that level of consumption does scare people.

You're not always going to be around something with wheels, though. Not only that, but distance running builds up endurance, 02 capacity, helsp with blood pressure and resting heartrate.
I get it, running can be inconvenient, but when you're in danger, the ability to run distances at a time is very handy.
Not to mention the added benefit of keeping weight off.

Very few people have the genetics to just run a mile without any previous training. Jog for a few weeks and basically anyone can put out a few miles barring some other health issue.

Running is absolutely shit tier for your body, though.
It's extremely stressful on joints and creates inconsistent pressure on the circulatory system. Run junkies are just endorphin addicts who like the chemical feeling more than they dislike how shitty running feels. Swimming is far superior.
