Every “Golden Age” is gone. The 21st century is the most boring and stagnant time period to live in.
You weren't born in ancient times to war and earn your name as a warrior or merchant; be it as a Roman, Gaul, Viking, Frank, or egyptian.
You weren't born in the 1500’s, too late to explore the far reaches of the world, or experience a burst of cultural and science with the renaissance.
You weren't born in post world war 2, to reap the benefits of an abundance of jobs.
A time where every man had a job, and got decent pay.
A time where you could have a wife and kids and a house with two vehicles with zero stress.
A time where you could start at the bottom and rise up to build something for yourself.
No....We live in a time where all the work has gone to China.
A time where the only battlefield to prove yourself is a barren wasteland with a coward enemy.
A time of stagnation, where the economy could falter at any moment, financially running your small business, or trade.
In desperate times you can't even go out and rob a bank anymore. You'll be caught in days with CCTV and forensics. You can't even be a crook. All you can do is go to your 9 to 5 job, try to pay off your student loan debt and hope for a promotion.

We live in the most boring of times. Hooray for the internet and technology! Wow...so fun...
>>
>>72240795
Yeah, boring as fuck.

Maybe that's one of the reason that the West started to wage a silent war against itself
>>
>>72240795
Maby not.
But you live in a age where you wont die from an infected tooth at age 32.

>tfw you were born just in time for the golden age of AI
Soon we will upload our brains to the cloud and live in a simulated utopia (or any other scenario you might want; all of the "golden ages" in your list can become your reality).

That or WW3 ends it all for humanity.

The standard of living is so high today that you can have a good life on welfare (at least in Europe). Please.
There's plenty to do. There's actually so much to do, with Internet you can learn anything you want, it doesn't get much better than this

>We live in the most boring of times. Hooray f

For the UK,. yes we live in the most exciting times, but...

the same cultural people we have grown up with have successfully destroyed any new wave of culture to describe what has been happening

and when looking at them

"who is friends with and married to and awarded a grant to next door but one

really things like 4chan are failures as their success is measured by their breaking through into the mainstream

instead of supplanting and surpassing

but due to its fragmented and un-co-operative nature can achieve nothing

Moot managed to get a job, well done. bake a cake.

Anon, I'm pretty sure I'd still be a 24 year old hhkv neet whether I lived today or during the Civil War. In fact it would be worse, because people in the past didn't like putting up with shit like that. And in ancient times I'd just become the king's fuccboi eunuch.

There were large gaps in any period of golden ages; the period from the End of the Franco-Prussian war to World war one for instance.

You have grown up in that period so count your self lucky you will be of age for what is yet to come.

We are currently in the golden age of cucks. Albeit a pretty sad one, it's a golden age nonetheless.
>>
>>72244430
Medieval peasants were mostly farmers. You can't really do any farming outside of spring and summer.
>>
Without Mordern technology i'd be dead, so I always consider that when this question comes up.

Ideally though mid to late 19th century was our golden age.

>Be a son of a mill workers

>Retire as colonial police.

>>72244612
30 has never been a common age to die at any point in time. Human lifespan hasn't increased by as much as people believe. The infant mortality rate is what brings it down so much.
>>
Did you not watch Trump's speech today? Some highlights:

>Finally, I will work with our allies to reinvigorate Western values and institutions.
>Instead of trying to spread universal values that not everybody shares or wants, we should understand that strengthening and promoting Western civilization and its accomplishments will do more to inspire positive reforms around the world.
>We will no longer surrender this country or its people to the false song of globalism. The nation-state remains the true foundation for happiness and harmony.

Pax Americana confirmed.

It'd be seasonal, so in the winter you'd grow shit like Broccoli, Brussels sprouts, cabbages, kale, leeks and parsnips.

Hence why they're used in Christmas dinners.
>>
>>72244875
Suppose infant mortality bringing it down makes sense but it was more for exageration purposes.

>>
>>72245219
Yeah but it's rotational; you'd constantly be either looking after live stock or sowing and harvesting different fields.

Not as if you plant them for a week in spring, havest them for a week in autumn and then spend the rest of your miserable peasant life shitting in the streets and trying to pray away cholera.
>>
MAYBE HE WAS MAD HAVE YOU EVERE COINSIDERED THAT
>>
>>72240795
You're so wrong it hurts.
We're undergoing the fastest rate of technology advancements in human history. We all have better quality of lives than everyone in history.

That's why there's so many liberals. We're weak. We've been too comfortable for too long. We think that those who come from different areas aren't savages. We're like survivors from a zombie apocalypse who have been sheltered from zombies for years.
>>
>>72245184
Infant mortality brought it down a lot.

In ancient rome, your life expectancy from birth was 21.
At age 5 your life expectancy jumped to 40.
At 15, you could easily live into your 60s if you don't die of an injury.

Υou can travel anywhere around the world
in hours today, but the downside is that most of the world is the same boring shit as home. Tourist destinations actually TRY to add some exotic element to their attractions. All originality is gone.
>>
>>72246214
>makes nonsense comment with no evidence
>thinks asserting something makes it correct
>>
>>72248839
You haven't been visiting the right destinations then. There are plenty of exotic locales, but you don't get to them on an easy tour so most people won't even go. For example, I've been in Northern Mozambique where there are still land mines and a large Muslim population. It was gorgeous and unspoiled.

There will be a happening in this lifetime, it's inevitable

Whether it is water scare, peak oil, or food shortages

First of all this is a very exciting time

Secondly most of your reception of those bygone eras is through the rose colored glasses of history

Most of the time absolutely nothing is happening

There's lots of things going on every day now.

But the happening doesn't come to you. YOU need to come to the happening.
Now's not the time for fear, that comes later.
