Deckhand, I am above deck because I'm no longer a greenhorn. I have fished many different types of catches, crab, tuna, salmon. It is very hard and you get very cold and wet. Once we picked up a fucking seal while tuna fishing and it tried to kill us all. The captain shot it with his pistol and we dumped it overboard. You obviously live on the boat and have no contact with anybody but your ship mates for a long time. You work upwards of 16 hour days. Most of the time you just do one thing aside from chores on the ship.
