I worked at a Doggy Daycare and I somewhat agree with you. The problem isn't dogs everywhere, it's shitty owners, especially in this country. I've been to other dog friendly countries, particularly in Europe where people actually train their dogs. They're disciplined to the point they're barely noticeable. Back home in the states where I worked, dogs are treated like spoiled human children and it's actually way more stressful for them to live that way. I could always tell which of the dogs were someone's "baby" because they would whine, cower, not get along with other dogs, and piss everywhere. Any attempt to correct the behavior on my part would be futile because the dog would go back home to its shitty "pet parents". We need to treat dogs like dogs again, for their own benefit if anything.
