Politicians and Gun Control advocates in Australia are trying to claim "Gun Control has eroded in Australia" and that it needs to be even stricter than it already is.

They want to ban lever actions, because they claim they are the same thing as semi-autos.

They want to ban handguns.

Is Port Arthur the only incident Australia has as far as high profile murders with a firearm go?

And the dude was straight up MK Ultra that managed to slip into your country.

does having a slut pose with a phallic firearm make it less gay to worship the barrel?

you know, like watching blowjob porn that's 99% cocks and cum, with some token, incidental female somewhere, covered in copious, mellifluous man-honey... fagget?
>>
The GCA and Watermelons just don't understand that shooting someone is already illegal. Yet people do it. So if they make gun ownership illegal do they really expect people to stop having guns?

There's millions of unregistered firearms in circulation, yet they want to ban registered firearms. It literally makes no sense.

baka com au/nsw/gun-control-eroded-since-port-arthur-20160427-gog5u5

I removed the dots to link correctly.

Currently the licenses are divided up into classes and take months to get and weeks after getting your license to even buy the gun, after that there is limitations on ammunition buying, storage (ammunition and bolt of the gun must be kept separate from the gun itself in two separate safes). I gun can never be used for self defense. Knives are illegal to carry on your person or in your car. Pepper spray is illegal to own, Tasers are illegal to own.

Don't ever let the "t-there hasnt been a mass shooting since" meme work on you. Hasn't been one in NZ since 1997 either, and in 1997 it was a legit lunatic who was on leave from the mental hospital, grabbed his dads shotgun and shot his family.
>>
>>72217237
The last thing any free nation and people need is gun control, its sham. Most of those so called "mass shootings" are staged or encouraged to enact gun control laws. So watch out in the near future for more "incidents" After that, they will move like the UK did and ban knives and other stupid shit, its getting old fast. Ban guns and they slowly flood you with migrants to kill you.
>>

The shooting in 'Port Arthur' then within a week the government created a mandatory gun 'buy back' where you had to either hand in your guns or be sent to jail.

>>
>>72217582
These are the ones that are "easier" to get, but still take months to get the license and weeks to purchase a firearm.

Category A: Rimfire rifles (not semi-automatic), circuit loaded firearms. shotguns (not pump-action or semi-automatic), air rifles including semi automatic, and paintball gun. A "Genuine Reason" must be provided for a Category A firearm.

Category B: Centrefire rifles including bolt action pump action, circuit loaded and lever action (not semi-automatic), muzzleloading firearms made after 1 January 1901.

Category H: Handguns including air pistols and deactivated handguns. To be eligible for a Category H firearm, a target shooter must serve a probationary period of 6 months using club handguns, after which they may apply for a permit. A minimum number of matches yearly to retain each category of handgun and be a paid-up member of an approved pistol club.[2] Target shooters are limited to handguns of .38 or 9mm calibre or less and magazines may hold a maximum of 10 rounds. Participants in certain "approved" pistol competitions may acquire handguns up to .45", currently Single Action Shooting and Metallic Silhouette. IPSC shooting is approved for 9mm/.38/.357 sig, handguns that meet the IPSC rules, larger calibres such as .45 were approved for IPSC handgun shooting contests in Australia in 2014.

I bet these are the same people who want open borders.

>>
>>72217947
These are the ones that are impossible to get at all basically.

Category C: Pump-action or self-loading shotguns having a magazine capacity of 5 or fewer rounds and semi automatic rimfire rifles. Primary producers, farm workers, firearm dealers, firearm safety officers, collectors and clay target shooters can own functional Category C firearms.

Category D: Self-loading centrefire rifles, pump-action or self-loading shotguns have a magazine capacity of more than 5 rounds. Functional Category D firearms are restricted to government agencies, occupational shooters and primary producers in some states. Collectors may own deactivated Category D firearms.

Category R/E: Restricted weapons, such as machine guns, rocket launchers, full automatic self loading rifles, flame-throwers, anti-tank guns, howitzers and other artillery weapons can be owned by collectors in some states provided that these weapons have been rendered permanently inoperable. They are subject to the same storage and licensing requirements as fully functioning firearms.

We protect soldiers, police, armed guards, cash and politicians with gun, yet the idea of our population protecting itself with a gun drives some people crazy. I like to think that most Aussies are wising up to the gun control fad... why can't this country have a proper discussion regarding guns?

They're pushing gun control hard now too on the 20th anniversary of Port Arthur, they're even having a crack at hunting.

To this day he regularly goes on tv spouting nonsense about how he singlehandedly saved Australia.

None of the studies or evidence back his claims, but nonetheless he spouts his bullshit and the majority of the population agree. Australia is a nation of city dwelling cuckolds who think they know what's best for everyone.

I really wish I could get on one of those talk shows and get a chance to speak at once of those survivors. I'd ask them why they didn't have a gun themselves to protect their family. These people want to disarm the population and make us rely on police protection, but where were the police at port arthur? Called out on a hoax drug bust earlier in the day. Martin Bryant (allegedly) had his way about town doing whatever the fuck he wanted for the whole day. And these people want me to put my faith in the police force?

The fact of the matter is, if that father who's always on tv was armed, his family might not be dead. It's his own fault.

With shows on TV like "The Project" trying to make a fool of a pro-gun American on TV explaining that gun ownership has actually prevented between 800,000 and 2,000,000 home invasions, robberies, etc in the US a year and that's only what is reported and that a tiny minute persentage of crimes are done using legal weapons, funnily enough criminals don't obey the law. He uses statistics and they fire back at him with "What if's" and try to make fun of him and cut him off so he can't make any further logical points. It's upsetting.

The issue in America is not a gun issue. It's a whole other issue that people won't talk about...

Port Arthur is the biggest can of worms once you start opening it. Every single thing about it is fucked.

"I did not recognize the male as Martin BRYANT" - James Laycock, Broad Arrow Cafe owner.

The best part is there was no inquest or investigation into it all. No proper trial, nothing. That muslim shoots up a cafe and it's still being investigated now, some iq of 66 guy kills 30 people and nope nothing here move on people.
>>
>>72218778
at 3:20 in that video or around that, you can here gun fire in the back ground whilst Martin is on the phone to the police but the gun fire is too far away for it to be him yet he is supposed to be the only person who committed this 'massacre'.

Also the part at the start where he tells the police "Do you want to tell your guy with the scope to put the gun down because he's gonna shoot your main man" is a little weird.

> I read somewhere that he had the laws already drafted, he just waited for the bodies to be cold.

Don't worry that's not just an Australian thing. The politicians here who are anti-gun push for anti-gun measures to be heard on the Senate and House floors the very next day. Every time, without fail.

The thing is, there is a perfectly legal way for them to strip us of our ability to own firearms. They simply need to amend the Constitution.

However, they don't have anywhere near the support they need to even begin that process so they always resort to emotional exercises after every shooting that becomes big news. Currently they're trying to stack the Supreme Court. I just think it's funny that they look at circumventing the law as a legitimate method of changing things. I bet most of them would be furious if Republicans elected a bunch of Supreme Court Justices who didn't even believe in the 14th Amendment but that's exactly what they do to the 2nd.

They need tragedies and in a sick way they root for them because it's the only way that they will get what they want.

You will see there was a lot of people who were against it and protesting to keep guns. Today though, even the parties like SSAA or SFP which are supposed to be gun rights organisations like NRA (somewhat) literally do nothing at all for guns nowadays. They do not try to push for anything. To get anywhere they have to aim high as if there was bullet drop to even hit anywhere reasonable but they don't push for anything. The anti-gunners though, keep clawing there way to getting more and more things slowly banned.

I've read that in Canada they literally made a law to suppress crime statistics of race because the statistics of black crime was much higher there too as it is in the US, UK or anywhere that black people have mass-migrated to. Some how even when they are the minority of a country, they seem to commit the majority of the crime.
>>
>>72219859
>The LDP regards the right to own firearms for sport, hunting, collecting and self-defence as fundamental to a free society.

http://ldp.org.au/policy/firearms/

Modern gun control is literally just people control, either you let the population and government have them, or nobody gets them. Preferential treatment should never be given to those who govern us, especially when it comes to guns.

That's why.

http://ldp.org.au/policy/firearms/
>>
>>72219202
And this is just another reason why it's laughable when anti-gunners always say "We haven't had a gun massacre since!". Yeah... Perhaps that's because they never usually happened in the first place. Also, what about the "Sydney Siege". The guy had a pump action shotgun illegally and the police ended up accidentally shooting some hostages because they never use or practice with their gun. Surprise surprise, criminals or people who are mentally unstable and intend to hurt people don't obey the law.

Shooters, fishers and farmers party does that also but my point was if I vote for them it's not going to change a thing at all. They can never beat a major party. I mean on a local level they have a small chance but nationally, they have no chance. I'm not saying I won't vote for either of those parties, I'm just saying it's really not going to change anything because no organizations that are meant to be pro-gun in Australia actually bother actively pushing for anything at all.

It's still banned from importing right now though and I wouldn't be surprised if that some how never gets lifted and is just continually extended.

"Among the reforms called for by gun control advocates are a permanent ban on the A110 lever shotgun, a rapid-fire shotgun that, advocates say, mimics the action of semi-automatic rifles banned in 1996.

The weapon, which can fire up to eight shots in as many seconds, has been temporarily banned from importation to Australia until August. About 7000 of the guns have been pre-ordered and will be delivered after that date unless the ban is extended."

From the article I liked in original post.

The main thing I think should change, is that firearms should be owned for self defense. No one is really working on that though. It's mainly a focus on hunting, etc.
>>
>>72217237

>>
>>72220683
The whole marxism thing ties into gun rights though and owning guns for self defense in my option. In the article, it says the following at the very end for those who haven't read it.

"Four areas for tighter gun control, as called for by Mr Shoebridge.

A permanent ban on the Adler A110 repeat-action shotgun

Reinstatement of police and mental health checks before firing ranges are used.

A strengthening of the requirement to prove to authorities they had a reason for owning each of their firearms. ("We've seen that requirement become a tick-a-box, with gun owners recycling that one reason indefinitely")

A ban on handguns"

"There are about 850,000 firearms registered in NSW, according to documents released by the police under freedom-of-information laws. That represents growth of about 10 per cent in five years.

The number of guns in private hands nationally now exceeds the amount held before the 1996 massacre, according to a Sydney University study. "

"Gun control advocates also want semi-automatic handguns banned.

"They are lethal, easily concealed and the weapon of choice for the criminal classes," said David Shoebridge."

Apparently criminally go get there gun license now according to this guy? I mean, if we outlawed guns obviously criminals wouldn't be able to get them. /s

Anything that can be use to defend yourself is illegal because they try to claim you having a weapon of any kind makes you defending yourself premeditated. So if someone attacks you with a knife and you had one too and happened to stop the attack using your own knife for example, you will most likely be charged and sent to prison.

It's basically illegal to defend yourself with anything no matter what the criminal has and using a gun would never be considered acceptable, basically. Also considering guns have to be kept dismantled and in two separate safes (one for ammo and bolt, other for the rest of the gun for example) if you shoot someone questions will be ask of how you got it all together so quickly, etc.

I've got my A + B licence and I can tell you in the state of VIC that's not the case, however you do need to keep the weapon separate from the ammo.

I lock mine in those old Army surplus ammo boxes.

Decades of leftist nanny statist propaganda.

Also in the city most people never come into contact with guns so fall victim to nonsensical terms like military grade assault rifles.
In the country where firearms are mainly used everyone simply sees them as tools.

It's an absurd situation where you have Jewish lawyers in the rarified air on a 50th floor office building trying to ban things like tractor use in rural areas. Gun control is no different.

Also, slash vests used to defend against knife attacks are also banned.

But whats strange is, they claim bullet proof vests are banned so criminals can't get them and cause more hassle for the Police... But how does that apply for Slash vests? Since when do the police use knives on people?

This is how all liberal policies work. They make an a priori conclusion and say "X must be the solution to Y". So then they implement X, and Y either doesn't get better, or it gets even worse. And instead of looking at the data and realizing they were wrong, they just say "well it's because we didn't go far enough! We just need MORE X to solve Y". And the the cycle continues until X becomes this massive bloated monstrosity of policy

Same shit no matter the case. Gun control, minimum wage laws, welfare, affirmative action, whatever.

2. Don't know how to argue without emotion

The closest we got to American antics were the Rum Rebellion and the Eureka Stockade, the latter saw Aussie battlers getting btfo.
>>
>>72223650

You're a moron.

Reasonable force can be interpreted as however the court sees it. For example, you could shoot someone in the leg and they might say it was reasonable, but if you shoot them in the leg and shoot them in the chest because they were still running at you they will probably say you used excessive force.

You're whats wrong with gun culture in Australia where you actually try to defend "reasonable force". Reasonable force should mean any means of defending yourself as you see fit because your life is under threat. Not what the court finds reasonable.

Yet here you are defending it.

That's how the left media paints it.

Standing up against those who want to take away your rights and property in the name of some amorphous "greater good" is not being overzealous.
>>
>>72224048
>We had one an average of every year.
Based on what data? According to Wikipedia we've had 23 mass shootings since 1911.
>>
>>72223939
Firstly, if you shoot someone in the leg you are an idiot. Secondly, if you did shoot someone in the leg, it would be considered using deadly force because you intentionally fired a gun at someone, therefore, intent to kill is imputed if the act was intentional.

The court can't just do whatever the fuck it wants, there are centuries of case law about what reasonableness means, books full of the shit.

Subjectivity is a moronic test when it comes to killing someone. 'you see yer honour, i seent he was a nigger and a shot him becoz i'm scared of dem niggers' 'bravo' says the judge 'you said you thought your life was in danger, therefore you were justified in killing him.'

See how fucking stupid that is? You're the moron. Go read some fucking books and learn why.

In the meantime, if someone is trying to kill you, kill them, you will be fine. e.g:

well your honour, the dark skinned man came toward me with a knife yelling 'i'm going to kill you' so i reached for my rifle, which i removed from my gun safe when I heard the man enter my house. When the man approached me I raised my gun and told him to stop, he did not, so I pulled the trigger in order to save my own life.

There is a big fucking difference. 'Stand your ground' laws are retarded on pretty much every level and subjective tests are the kind that get innocent men gaoled for rape.
>>
Oh God..

>lever action
>same as semi-automatic
Wut.

Fucking hell, they won't be happy until every civilian firearm is gone, will they? Just because a handful of people lose their lives to the actions of a miniscule number of evil individuals, they're willing to strip the freedoms from the entire ordinary, law-abiding population..

Canada is cucked, Toronto more so. The BLM movement has successfully pressured the police to release the names of officers who shot a mentally ill black guy who attacked them with a knife as if knowing their names will do anything or change the fact that they were acquitted of any charges.
