Its no secret that Texas is becoming, or at this point is, a purple state.

Its also a known fact that most of Trumps support has come from the east coast, and Oklahoma. Texas and the Midwest don't care for him.

In a general election with Trump as the republican nominee, is it possible that the republicans in Texas who don't really love Trump at all simply not turn out enough to put Texas in the blue this year?

It will be closer than normal given a growing Hispanic population and a tepid response to Trump among Texans, but I can only see Trump gaining ground from his 2-point polling lead from September.

they'll turn out to defeat hillary in sure time

I honestly think this is a really interesting question because, at some point, you're going to see TX start to reach a tipping point.

I'd be pretty surprised if it was this cycle though.

Hillary's support with women and minorities is going to do interesting things to the electoral map, that much is probably true.

Nah. Texas will be red for at least another decade. A purple Texas is meme tier punditry.

It won't happen this election cycle... but if Clinton wins then it will definitely happen in the near future.

This election genuinely is the last stand for conservativism in the United States. If we lose here, the demographic and political changes over the next eight years of rampant migration and amnesty, socialist economic policies, and leftist activist supreme court justices will guarantee the left will remain in control for the foreseeable future.

I can't imagine Texans voting for Shillary "gun control lmao xD" clinton

>last stand for conservativism in the United States

That's why thy are supporting Cruz, and not Trump.

Trump lacks any sort of real conservatism, nor does he seem to think much of religion. And the conservatives and evangelicals know this. His policy on trade and foreign affairs (as if he had any consistency) also makes him unsavory to libertarians.

Trumps popularity shows a clear 'east coats / rest of America' split with republicans, with a lot of trumps supporters coming from states that will go blue, because they always do. (Massachusetts, New York, Pennsylvania). That will hurt him come general elections.

I'm not sure the western republicans want the east-coast dominating their politics from now on if Trump starts a trend of the east-coast determining the republican nomination.

Purple?
I see Texas as more of a far right wing state making Trump look left wing.

>california will never go red again

If Trump does win, and start deporting Mexicans, it'll be a huge boost to the Republican influence in Texas. The only two people that make up the majority of Democrats are them, and SanFran faggots congregating in Austin. Thankfully Austin is tiny compared to the other cities in Texas, so it won't become another New York City situation.

The problem for conservatives is that they also try to stick to being anti-abortion as one of the most important issues.

It's not for politicians to mess with the private decisions of people.

There should be ways to get (legal) latinos to vote Republican

The Democratic party organizationally in Texas is supposed to be absolutely clueless

GA, AZ (both super diverse and young) and UT (Mormons) are the deep red states that can turn

>minorities
>ever voting mostly republican

I wish, but it'll never happen. I know a few Mexicans voting for Trump, but they're few and far between.

He's committed to national security, bringing jobs back here, and the American people over fucking companies.

Cruz is a gross and unsightly man who looks like someone in makeup for the movie Nothing But Trouble. He WILLLINGLYYYY worked with fucking Kasich, KASICH, an anti-gun Republican, over Trump.

Cruz is a piece of shit. Trump is as "true" of a Conservative as anyone.

People who run the GOP don't get to change the definition of "Conservative". A guy is pro national security, small govt and lower taxes is a fucking Conservative. Go fuck yourself.

Well to be fair he was by far the worst candidate not named Jeb Bush.

Evangelicals are a cancer on the Republican Party.

Those bible thumping faggots are going to throw the election and doom the entire country because they care more about dissing homos and teaching creationism in schools than they care about national security and jobs.

The only way forward is nationalism
