In all honesty no, even ignoring how this map ignores culture the US is not Europe, it is a hell of a lot more united. Take for example the New York/New Jersey example I mentioned above. Yes New York city dumps most of its trash in New Jersey but most of the people who work in NYC actually live somewhere in New Jersey. Dividing New York and New Jersey into separate countries would end up with a situation akin to most of the people who work in Berlin actually living in Poland. Crossing into another state as part of your daily commute is bad enough, crossing into another country is much worse.
