Last I checked (before todays primaries) there have been 18.3m democrat votes cast vs 23.1m republican votes cast.

Right now you have private insurance that reimburses for much higher than what medicare reimburses for, so hospitals feel free to charge more. it's a system of the hospitals and drug companies trying to screw the insurance companies, so the insurance companies in turn screw you.
