How come Apple is failing? Dotcom 2.0 bubble is bursting? People don't have money to buy iPhones?
>>
>>72172039
More like everyone has phones. No forward movement in innovation means stagnation.
>>
People realizing their information will be taken at any cost if someone with enough money wants it.

Some pretty shitty publicity for Apple in the last year.
>>
>>72172039
>side with terrorists
>your sales die

WOOOOOOOOOOOOOW
>>
>>72172039

The governments of the world being able to break into them and remove what ever materials they desire is probably the main reason behind it.

Also, Apple products are designed for idiots who don't understand technology.
>>
>>72172039
they run out of innuvations..

also, pandering to niggers. I am an androidmissle now, will probably still buy MBP's since I dont like OSes coded by pajeets (windows)
>>
>>72172039

Saturation, hell their newest phone is a Iphone 5 with Iphone 6 guts.
>>
>>72172039
because realistically the phones haven't changed much in years and we're nearing the point where everyone that wants an iphone has one. most apps are pure shit also.

smartphones are a meme

>>
>>72172429
So just buy android. It's more transparent and has wider variety.
>>
I don't have an Iphone (or even a smart phone) but hasn't it hit a point of diminishing returns? Is there that big of a difference between this generation and the previous yet?
>>
Thier entire market ploy is tricking people into buying the same phone every year, eventually people get sick of that after they realize what is actually happening.

"A fucking colony" would be funny, but wouldnt really work if canada said it.
>>
>>72172039
your article is inaccurate . apples iphone sales fell the quarter after their all time high for the same reason. chinas sales

thanks to china apple reached sales figures that had been seen as impossible. but less than 3 months later they lost to 2 companies. 1 of which was basically a chinese kick starter

remember last year when their stock value dropped yea that was the first time they reported losses in iphone sales but it was a full 3 months after the fact
>>

People will only see propaganda stories of people standing in line for days for their products before they just become desensitized to it. Also, "We will defend to death the right for terrorists to plan attacks!" doesn't look too good.

>>
>>72172039
There's no big leaps anymore.
And speaking for myself, I used an iPhone once and that was enough to make me sick of Apple's ecosystem.
>>
>>72172161
Yeah. If you have a flagship phone from 2 years ago it's not really a big deal to upgrade unless you want a speedier CPU for games. There are also a lot of competition from Chinese manufacturers who are selling their phones in the US now with pretty good specs for a mid-range price like the Huawei honor 5x, Asus Zenfone 2, and Alcatel idol touch 3.
The average person doesn't need a $700 phone to just use Facebook and instagram. I will admit that the iPhone SE is pretty nice for the price though.

My OnePlus One will probably last another year or two before I feel I "need" to upgrade.
>>
>>72172952
>How are you going to browse tinder or insta without a smartphone

You don't.

You actually go out and meet real people the old fashion way and really nobody gives a shit about your photos.
>>
Because as much as people make fun of Apple fanboys, the number of people who actually go out and buy every new iphone yearly is minuscule. They've hit the limits of the market finally, pretty much everyone who wants a smartphone at this point has one.
>>

It depends of you care about things like USB-C, fingerprint scanner, wireless charging, AMOLED display, etc. Those are pretty nice but not nice enough to want to spend another $300+ on when my current phone works fine.

If you have a phone from 2013/2014 with Snapdragon 800/801, you probably won't have to upgrade for a while. They are like the 2500k of ARM CPUs.

>People are finally realizing how expensive smartphones with contracts are
Seriously, these people are paying thousands for a phone they'll just end up replacing in a year or two. The fact that these phones default memory is only around 16-32 GBs of storage memory when many are already going 4k, 2k display, and the music, games, and videos people want to watch, just shows how much Apple and Google are jewing audiences. 32 GBs is nothing. You can get 128 GB SD card for less than 100$, and given that phones no longer have removable SD card, Apple and Samsung and Google have no excuse.

You know that apple basically always was "the hipster" machine.
One of the big advantages they got was a quite long exclusivity of things like adobe photoshop.

Once adobe began to expand to the windows platform the decline of apple began, people still stuck with apple because they where used to it, but after pcs became more powerful much quicker and cheaper then an apple.

Guess why gates had to loan money to jobs in the 90s (150 million).

Consoles killed the hardware sector.

You needed to upgrade once in 6 months before, now you can just play with a cheap graphics card you bought 3 years ago. The manufacturers stopped bothering, why put millions into research, when the average required specs will stay the same for the next 5 years?

All because the publishers didn't like the piracy percentage on PC. That's what greed does.

>Consoles killed the hardware sector.

Exactly. Software publishers don't want to make PC exclusive games and by early 2007 we saw PC games phasing out. No longer were games coming out that pushed the limits of PC hardware. Instead now, we have Nvidia and AMD telling a bunch of morons who don't know any better to purchase the latest $600 GPU just so they can play a game that was designed for 4+ year old mid tier hardware on a console. I wonder whether devs purposely have unoptimize games on the PC just to pressure people to upgrade.

Still visual effects in Crysis from 2007 that are barely used if ever in modern day games. One of the biggest ones is volymetric clouding. I remember it being used in 2006-07 but dropped for w/e reason in PC games.

a lot of people get married too quickly or marry someone that they have very little in common with besides a fear of dying alone.

a lot of people also peacock hard at the beginning of a relationship and then stop trying as months pass because they feel like they've achieved their goal. relationships are "living" things and stuff like dates and special effort keep it fresh and show that you care (although you don't want to be a sappy faggot either). divorces probably happen because one/both people stop caring

The same reason MS is using underhanded tactics to try and force an upgrade of their OS.

They aren't putting out anything new. XP was the last good OS MS put out (and Win7 was the only version since that wasn't worth downgrading to XP over), and the iPhone 4S/5 is the last phone Apple has put out (4S unless you care about 4G). Fuck, the 4S is STILL capable of running the same OS version as the 6S Plus.
So yeah, if you want your consumers to upgrade, you need to give them a reason to (or take a page from MS and use underhanded trickery to get people to upgrade). Otherwise they'll just keep their old shit, because it does the same thing without needing to pay through the nose.

The problem is looking the part, which is difficult for young people.

Since when? You could play a game on a 3 year old PC, on minimum settings, yes and as long as it wasn't an FPS or an MMO.

For decent graphics and some mods you always needed a recent graphics card.

Has nothing to do with being left behind. Not many jobs require you to be able to access your email as soon as you receive them. Ditto for skype or face chat, or whatever people call it.

It's not being left behind when the vast majority of people with smartphones don't use them for anything resembling productivity over 99% of the time.

Furthermore, the people who actually need them for work HATE them, because they are never off the clock.
>>
Because everyone already has a smartphone, and the new ones aren't adding any features that are worth spending more money on. Only real reason to upgrade is if you crack your screen or some shit.

No one cares about the phone itself anymore. Hardware has gone as far as it could go right now. Innovation is a necessity.

It's all about Augmented Reality/Virtual Reality now and A.I. Assistants.

Microsoft Cortana and Amazon Alexa are the best virtual assistants right now, Google's is middle ground and Apple's Siri sucks.

Apple isn't even really making a huge effort to get into the V.R. foray either. That's being ruled by Sony VR, Samsung Oculus Rift, HTC Vive and google.

And Apple has a weak entry into the autonomous car market. That's being ruled by the Google/Uber/Ford combo, Tesla, and kinda sorta Verizon with Hum..

Time Warner Cable and ADT own the intelligent home market.

And most other smart devices like TV's and Game Systems are being rocked hard by Samsung and Sony.

Apple has peaked. That's about it. Nothing to do with terrorism, since Microsoft, Google, and other dot com's have sided with Snowden, along with Apple.

Apple just needs a new amazing product...or they can piggyback HTC or Tesla or something until they can make it big again...

Horse shit. You show me anyone who is well-known, and rich, no matter what the age, and there are 10s willing to jump on their dick. Once again, younger people have a difficult time showing their wealth, and because of that, people look over younger people. Wow... Just wow. Are you sure you're not mentally ill? Where do I start with this... Do you realize that there are physically more men in their 20's than there are men in their 40's? Do you realize that men die off at an ever increasing rate as time goes on? Do you realize that men in their 20's typically work crappy jobs and as time goes on they advance in their careers? Do you realize that having a good salary in your 20's is an anomaly and having a crappy salary in your 40's is also an anomaly? Can you put 2 and 2 together? It means on average there are more guys in their 20's and they are stuck in entry level positions making crappy salary, whereas there are fewer guys in their 40's and they are making good money by that time. Maybe ditching that smartphone was a bad idea...

>Flip Phone
A boy falls in love with a girl.

Unable to confess, he is gifted with by a deus ex machina with the girl's phone number. Never minding the strange area code, he immediately calls her, and is overjoyed to find out that she has a crush on him as well.

But, the next day, when he recounts the previous day's confessions to the girl, she only looks at him with a perplexed expression. After some investigation, he finds out that the girl he called is not the same girl he fell in love with. In fact, she doesn't exist in this universe at all. She is the girl's alternate universe counterpart, who has fallen in love with the MC's own AU self, who too is blissfully unaware of her crush.

Hijinks ensue as the two strike up a deal to give each other their darkest, most private secrets in order to equip the other with the weapons they need to conquer the heart of their other selves. While the two chase their respective loved ones, DRAMA ensues as they begin to fall in love with each other instead and question the NATURE of LOVE.

The iPhone sinking has been inevitable since Android was introduced. Jobs knew this and it's why he stupidly dedicated many of his last days to destroying it.

Now, this doesn't mean iOS is bad, it just can't compete with an OS that is cheaper and allows for innovation from many companies.

All of Apple's innovations were inevitably taken in by Android and made cheaper while Android still has many, many companies creating on both the software and hardware level. A one size fits all approach just can't compete in the long run nor continue to be the first to innovate.

As smart phones become more and more commoditized Apple's advantage will continue to drop as cheaper phones begin to become feature rich enough for regular consumers. Even if Apple wants to chase these customers they can't because it is more profitable for them to target the high end. This is disruptive innovation just as Christenson described it and cheap phones are now becoming good enough.

It's not to function as an adult, but for people to get accustomed to using such applications. There are people who still have no idea how to use the very phones they buy. My own mother still calls me over for help on her Android. Because technology moves forward, it's not urged to know how to use these new programs for communication, and move away from things like Microsoft Outlook which are loaded with excess nonsense. Instant messengers are streamlined, and most of all, encrypted, such as Whatsapp and most-notably, Signal. You can literally say anything with Signal and get away with it in total privacy.

Apple hasn't innovated in years. The touch screen, Siri, and most of their good features were developed by third-party companies that Apple paid or bought, or were present on android first.

The only demographic that should own an apple product now are old people who really can't figure out computers, and need the most simplistic, locked-down OS possible backed by apple's customer support.

Define mobile access. Being able to pick up the phone almost anywhere? Sure. Being able to connect to the internet so quickly that they just can't wait for you to get to a computer? Not so much.

>-oil drillers still need data on the hole they are drilling
Then the manager needs a laptop.

>-hong kong tax avoidance lawyer cucks still need a way to access files when meeting with clients
Oddly specific, but I'll grant you that. I've already stated that there are jobs that require smart phones. The people in these positions usually hate them, though.
See>>72179923

The easiest way to tell whether someone actually needs a smart phone is to ask their opinion on them. If they need it, they likely hate it, because their salary is misleading, because their work day/week doesn't end when they hit 40 hours, or go home for the day. They are employed pretty much 24 hours per day, 6-7 days per week. And sometimes, you just want to be able to drink until you're blackout drunk in the privacy of your own home without it reflecting on your next evaluation.

So yeah, they are needed by a select few people. The vast majority of people, however, need smart phones like they need a Nintendo Wii.
>>
>>72173591
Honestly yeah...it's never felt the same
>>
>>72172039

Literally zero innovation after Steve died. He was the heart of that place. The best the could come up with in the 6s is if you hold your finger on the screen the picture moves for a few seconds? Fucking amateur hour. Not to mention their laptops have looked and felt the same for 10 years.

People are onto to Apples jewery too. Updates vastly speed down their phones with no way to back track (forcing consumers to upgrade phones), laptops with severely recessed components for exorbitant prices. Not to mention iOS is like a solid block of concrete sitting on your football. Looks like you're not going to get to play with that ball, all you can do is climb on and sit, bored.

I'm glad Apple's lack of effort is finally catching up to them
>>
>>72172039
They were the first to the US smart phone market but relying on people to stay with their format without lowering prices to their competitions level ensured that they were going to fail. Brand loyalty and holding people hostage with locked in account info can only take you so far.
