Thing is, with the proper setup six shermans can't do shit to the tigers, they need to get too close to be able to penetrate them reliably, while the tigers can shoot from up to 2 km, or even more as long as they have info where to hit, their guns are very accurate and 1 hit fucks up anything it hits for good. Wittman managed to successfully rek whole truck and tank columns on the western front with good tactics, they just retreated because they couldn't take a few tigers out without horrible casualties. Tigers were mostly taken out with artillery and air strikes because even the high velocity 76mm couldn't reliably penetrate them with each hit, like the tiger could. Those things were a horrible pain in the ass to take out.
