Why don't Republicans accept the scientific consensus on climate change?
>>
Oil barons.

It's pretty astonishing that /pol/ doesn't either, considering they tout science as the greatest achievement of the white race in every other thread.

Because Democrats do

And in this day and age it's not about what makes sense, it's about blatantly opposing "the other side" on every matter ever.

First thing people ask if a new issue comes up is "where are dems/republicans/conservatives/etc. standing".

It's total aids and every issue ever is politicized immediately. Even shit that doesn't make sense. Even shit where you would normally just act isolated on.

This is why shit like the abortion issue has no solution, because if you are for abortion, you are instantly a bubble headed hardcore communists who propably wants everythign to be free and if you are against it you are a bible thumping hardcore fundamentalist who sacrifices a goat on sundays. There is no correct stance anymore, because these idiot camps drag everyone in immediately and no matter what you answer, one of the sides will immediately lit the torches like the fucking cavemen both political camps have become.

Fuck this fucking landscape where everyone has to be either this or that with no in between and you're instantly gutted for all your worth to be grinded up between this eternal conflict with no solution.

Alright shill, pat attention because I'm only going to say this once;
The Earth's climate has ALWAYS been constantly changing. There have been years where the climate has been hotter, and years where the climate had been colder. It never ever stays the same. In over a couple BILLION years the sun will become a red star and dry out the Earth turning it into a crusty dry rock. The only real threat that we can possibly have is smog from factories and cars. And that's not a threat to the Earth's temperature or the ozone layer. It's a threat to people and animals. So no, the "global warming" bullshit is nothing more than a globalist lefty bullshit lie made to make people complain.
>>
Manmade climate change is a hoax. The whole scam has been BTFO multiple times, but the looniest of libtards continue to believe it. It's like a religion to them at this point.
>>

Why don't you accept that you will never get your carbon taxing bullshit implemented?
>>
>>72134372
Fucking Hilary and Bernie have no idea the science behind climate change, and have absolutely no idea or power for a plan.

Beyond that, its very likely that we won't even see an impact on climate change for centuries, if its truly even a thing. The industrial era for the UK and the America had much worse emissions than present, and I highly doubt it wouldn't have caused more harm than what we have been doing in the past few years.
>>
>consensus

not an argument

Also the consensus is a fabrication. You couldn't even get real sophistry so you had to make some up
>>
>>72134372

Because climate change is an issue for pussy ass liberals. It's political suicide to say that climate change is going to happen because of capitalism.

Crack open your smart phones and laptops and tell me how many of the parts that make it up are made cleanly. Even robots which you neckbeards think are going to take all of our jobs require rare earth metals, polymers and non recyclable products to make. Not to mention the pollution from the shipping and manufacturing of these parts.

China and India are single handedly destroying the planet with the amount of pollution they produce from their manufacturing industries because the 1 billion+ people that live in their countries need jobs. Climate change is not something that can be fixed with recycling plastic bottles and driving hybrids and most republicans know that.
>>
>>72134372
Because there is still an enormous percentage of their donors that comes from oil industry. Do you think Shell and Koch Brothers would want for the party they gave so much money that they stand behind something that would affect their business negatively?

Wait for 20 years when the old farts die out and tech industry moguls take over as the leading sector of the GOP donors. Then you will see Republicans screaming from the top of their lungs "WE MUST STOP GLOBAL WARMING; MUH PENGUINS, IDS HABBENING"

Don't you mean the "heavily politicized, government subsidized, data-model driven climatology field's consensus, despite their discipline's apalling predictive record and lack of experimental data"?

Global warming is a hoax. It's been completely debunked.
Democrats backing up the hoax simply means that they have special interests and they benefit greatly from pushing the hoax. Anyone who thinks they are pro-science is retarded. They decide the global warming is real because it benefits them, and then they do the ''science'' to confirm their beliefs.

That's not scientific consensus. That's the equivalent of Dr. Oz saying he has a magical weight loss pill. Once research and studies were conducted, those results determine consensus.

This right here. Assume for a second climate change is exactly as liberals describe it, in 5 years it's going to be a live action water world and we're all fucked if we don't break out the solar right now. The pollution output of Canada, USA, and pretty much every other first world country is so minute in comparison to India and China that anything we do will be exceedingly expensive and pointless in comparison.
