https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/wonk/wp/2016/04/25/bernie-sanders-is-profoundly-changing-how-millennials-think-about-politics-poll-shows/

>After Bernie Sanders's defeat in New York last week, his chances of winning the Democratic nomination are dwindling. Yet, even if he loses this campaign, a poll published Monday suggests that Sanders might have already won a contest that will prove crucially important in America's political future.

>The poll of Americans between the ages of 18 and 29 finds that Sanders is by far the most popular presidential candidate among the youngest voters. This group's attitudes on a range of issues have become more liberal in the past year.

>The data, collected by researchers at Harvard University, suggest that not only has Sanders's campaign made for an unexpectedly competitive Democratic primary, he has also changed the way millennials think about politics, said polling director John Della Volpe.

>"He's not moving a party to the left. He's moving a generation to the left," Della Volpe said of the senator from Vermont. "Whether or not he's winning or losing, it's really that he's impacting the way in which a generation — the largest generation in the history of America — thinks about politics."

>Apparently, Sanders's popularity with young voters isn't just some shallow fad or a cult of personality with little connection to substantive questions of politics. Young people, it seems, are taking Sanders's ideas to heart.

Look fondly upon these days, /pol/, for America dies in one generation.

All Bernie Sanders had done is grown the populists.
Once he gets out, everyone in the Millenial sect whom isn't a progressive cultists will go to Trump.

Congratulations progressives. You've just accidentally given rise to the right-wing populism once again.

This is just lies and damage control.

They lost the battle but they want to look like they won the war.

Next year everyone will be saying "Bernie who?"

It's true. Bernie Sanders has laid bare the same thing Trump has on the Republican side. The DNC isn't even trying to hide their bias for Hillary Clinton, now, and they're showing open contempt for the liberal base. The RNC did the exact same thing for Romney in 2012. History shows where that led.

The DNC would really like for Bernie to quietly go away and for his uppity young voters to sit down, shut up, vote for Hillary, and like it. There's no going back. Bernie changed things on the left, for a generation if not forever. Just like Trump did on the right. Politics as we know it is over in America.

WaPo has been shilling for Hillary and bashing Bernie (and his supporters) since day one. They have zero interest in apologizing for him.

And after Trump is president, and they see how effective a nationalist approach will be, that will change.

Also all but the most hardline delusional marxist wannabes steer away from leftism as they get older.
