What does minimum wage do anyway?

It doesn't stop inflation. Goods and services are still getting expensive everyday. It may increase your purchasing power but not for long.

if your buisnes is based on not paying your employee you have to spend more time to hide this
>>
>>72091374

The banks force inflation by controlling how much money is being added to the pool. If money was linked to either gold or actual working hours, we wouldn't have inflation like this.

Guarantees workers aren't too badly exploited.
Free transactions between consenting adults is a meme. Employers have way more negotiating power.

The treasury prints money you idiot. Gold also suffers inflation as more of it is mined.

imagine yourself as a board member of a large company,ok?
you do deals with other large companies, you see amazon with their kiva robots, drone delivery etc, walmart with it's automated checkouts, mcdonalds gearing up for the same:
what would /you/ want? the same jobs for the same people as before, or a clearing out of the market?- to essentially get rid of most of these jobs /as an entire category/
>>
>What does minimum wage do anyway?

keeps unemployment rates high and losers leeching off of the government because apparently no job is better than working for what you and your employer both agree your time and effort is worth
>>
>>72091780
so would you want the jobs to gradually disappear, or get the government to give all your competitors/colleagues, suppliers, partners etc- a push to get your whole country automated- all the while tricking poor people into thinking it's for them?
>>
>>72091374

It's really good at crushing the lower and middle class together to decrease social mobility.
>>
>>72091374
its a price floor so the kikes dont start paying people 50 cents an hour to do things.

it doesnt matter when china and other shit countries exist though.

we sold out our poorfags for theirs.
>>
>60% of people buy a product
>minimum wage goes up
>now 90% of people buy the product
>company increases price to increase profit
>60% of people buy the good
Whoa it's like nothing changed

>Exploiting

Dumb fucks believe that employers pay employees out from their own pockets.

>What does minimum wage do anyway?
It's the engine of inflation.

When a corporation isn't selling enough overpriced electronics, or blue jeans, or whatever, they let their lobbied congressmen authorize a minimum wage increase.

All the minimum wage morons rush out and buy expensive trash lining the pockets of corporate interests. Eventually, these added labor costs drive up the costs of all goods and services so the cycle has to be repeated eternally.

Oh, and when you have people making $12/hr in a $7.25 minimum wage environment and the minimum wage goes up to $15/hr, he doesn't get a raise. He might be making 1.6x minimum wage now, but after the hike he sure as fuck isn't getting a raise to $24.80/hr. Basically, what was a non-minimum wage job is converted to a minimum wage job, and any skills he uses on the job are worth the exact same as someone that mops floors or flips burgers. A socialist dream come true.

>>72092052

This is complete bullshit. Sraffa proved that the neo-classical work-market system doesn't apply to an economy with more then one good (so basically every economy). But keep believing that its fine
>>
>>72091977
When there are more people who want to work than there are jobs. Inherently employers can negotiate lower pay as they have more people to choose from.
Without minimum wages they could do lowest bid employment. Similar how to government contracts works, and look how well that works. Hint it doesnt.
>>
>>72091882
How much an employer thinks you effort and time are worth.
Suspiciously they think its the lowest amount they can legally pay, how bout that.
>>
>>72092248
Then a smart employer would see that they cant offer skilled workers the same as a minimum wage job any more and if they want to keep their employees. They would have to pay them more.

America exports inflation because the dollar is used as a reserve currency. This is why inflation is really low. The rise in prices you see are generally due to higher demand, not inflation.
