Christianity is the ultimate stage of the red pill. I went with atheism before as well because I didnt trusted in people and had bad experiences with religious family, but as I grew older I realiced that everything I had learned from religion mattered to me and was actually part of me, so it wasnt about christians being stupid, but allowing christianity to make me a better person.
I started studying the bible this time for real, and it all made sense. If you dont wish to read it all this is the only thing you need to know:
Our life here is miserable, because we inherently dont deserve a perfect life like god wanted for us, but still, he allows it. And in the end God gaves us Jesus as a gift, as a effective way towards him, towards perfection. Jesus is the only way
Why are we not worthy? Well the original sin separated us from god, what is that you say? the fruit of the tree of knowledge of good and evil. The devil tempted us to believe we could be like god, but god is perfect so it was impossible in the first place. So what does the forbiden fruit does? Regardless of what some people believe, is not related to science (despite the word knowledge) is not related to morality (despite the word good and evil). The forbiden fruit provides certainty (unperfect certainty that is, because only God is perfect).
The original sin provides the certainty that we can understand the universe, the certainty that we can discern good from evil, but we cant, because we cannot possibly understand God's plan. It provides the certainty that we have control over our existence, which we don't; and the certainty that we can be perfect. Thats why you see all the shit that happens in the world, we cannot possibly achieve the peaceful existence God planned for us in the first place, we can't achieve it without him.
That's why I went back to being christian, because I can see the shortcomings of humanity and I am willing to believe in a higher power than myself.
