It can be argued that the intentions were good. The Crusaders were basically /pol/ fags who saw their world falling apart, but instead of sitting at home posting on an anonymous image board about it, they actually tried to stop it. This is a very noble and brave concept, but they had no idea what the fuck they were doing. They just pulled together a rag tag militia, didn't even equip them with proper weapons and armor, and sent them off to die as cannon fodder in some hap hazard attempt at invasion. The first one worked because they had some genuine military minds and good equipment on their side. The subsequent Crusades after that were poorly thought out. They had less men, less gear, and the enemy was more prepared for them. The clergy in charge should have seen the massacres coming, it's unacceptable that they knowingly sent so many good men to their pointless deaths. What's even more ridiculous is they kept doing it over and over. How many Crusades were there? Like 10 or something? They should have realized after the third that it wasn't going to work. They could have come up with a better plan of attack to save their lands if they didn't just rush in. Overall the Crusades are one of the biggest blunders in human history, even if they had a just cause.
