Nothing less than HARVARD confirmed that eating meat is what allowed humans to increase brain capacity and rise above wild apes:

http://www.nature.com/nature/journal/v531/n7595/full/nature16990.html

Feel free to ignore any and all vegefags threads from now on, and rest easy knowing that science is on your side.
>>
Carbohydrates are basically toxic to your brain, (excitotoxins) When you consume them they cause insulin release and inflamation and this leads to things like degeneration of the brain and apoptosis, cancer. Carbohydrate is good for short term intense power/physical output, but the human body is tuned to run on fat.

There seriously aren't climate change deniers on /pol/ right?

That's insane there's so much information out there, all peer reviewed, all public, that you can look at to see the facts.

The Idea that there is a global conspiracy that is faking C02 emissions, temperature readings, water line information, atmosphere physics, and just the general working of physics themselves is insane.

Hundreds of thousands of people are collaborating to fool people into thinking that human influence isn't affecting the climate?

There were retards who argued that lead isn't toxic to humans during the last century, because paid shills of the industries who profited from lead spread such lies. It took decades to dis-spell those notions and actually get lead emissions regulated.

It is the same thing here basically. Global corporations and industries, who would face economic burdens from the efforts to curb climate change, fund dissinfo agents to further their own agenda, and make the matter into a debate.
It is nothing new.

copypasta I made and keep posting in these threads because you dumb faggots can never come up with answers that aren't "just google it m8 like a lot of scientists agree but never published their methodology or anything, they just agree so appeal to authority":

Prove it is:

A: happening (I don't doubt it).

B: can be directly linked to human actions like burning fossil fuels

C: post specifics, how the parts the humans are doing is actually significant. Like what percent is our fault.

D: post specifics, about just how fast "climate is changing" since "global warming" is no longer the meme term. I want real statistics like "we are getting X warmer every year and I will have to worry about it in Y years becuase Z happened and is devastating"

E: post specifics, about just why I should give two fucks if hipster faggots have to move their shitty cities 2 miles inland while I pay for retarded infrastructure that would probably cost more

F: if all of that is all real and shit, why I would care if it's as tragic as the lefty faggots think, when they're all just destroying our countries and children's futures with mass immigration of mudslimes and taconiggers and increased socialism to support these subhumans

G: Explain how wind turbines that are complete and utter shit, cost more fossil fuels to build and transport and assemble and shit than they save over their liftime and only work in wind, but not too much wind so you have to use tradition power sources anyway, how solar isn't complete shit that get ruined by dust, only works during the day, without clouds or fog or any retard with an umbrella is within 20 miles

H: Explain why we should be pouring billions of my taxpayer money into this when it is proven the private sector is many times more efficient than any government grant program or research fund. If a company makes and patents the next big innovation in energy, they will quite literally become one of the biggest companies in existence

>Lead has been a known toxic compound since Roman times you idiot
And despite of that, not even 100 years ago, oil idustry shills were arguing that the lead levels in people at that time were "natural" and that lead wasn't toxic to humans or the nature.
And it took decades for those realizations to have any actual effect in policy changes, due to industry shills pushing against those changes the whole way, as they would have cut into their profits.

And climate change has plenty of evidence for it. Science indeed, doesn't work by consensus, it works with evidence, and testable theories. If the so climate change deniers could indeed give more plausible and better supported theories for why the climate is changing, they would gain fame and their theories would become the accepted ones, over the carbon emission stuff.

Veganism is not about proving our ancestors were herbivores and therefore we should be too. It is about saying we do not need to eat them any longer and doing so is therefore unethical since it entails suffering and exploitation.

The article doesn't cause any problems for that, vegans are not turning their brains to mush, other wise it would be plain to see. Studies actually show we have a higher IQ than average and lots of the worlds smartest people are vegetarian/vegan.

Not everyone can live comfortably on a vegan diet.

Nowhere near enough to make a convincing case that humans and fossil fuels are exclusively at fault for it. Like I said, the situation with climate change isn't comparable with the one about lead. If a scientist could show me exactly by how much th earth will heat up per unit of CO2 then I would believe them. Right now, it's all conjecture. And bad conjecture as that. Why else do you think they changed the term to 'climate change?' Accurate science must be predictable, otherwise it's crap.

"basic rational thinking" sure lets try

>> I'm hungry
>> I have money or time
>> I choose to obtain food in exchange for my time or money
>> I eat food

What's wrong with that? Seems pretty rational to me.

"ethics" subjective. what is ethical is different for everyone and everything. you need to prove how eating meat is not ethical. You can't prove that eating meat is immoral. Animals eat eachother. Humans are animals. Therefore, humans eat other animals. Trying to say it's inhumane is a complete joke, animals aren't moral and they don't kill their prey based on morality. holding ourselves to a higher standard is a ridiculous thought when a fox will thrash a henhouse, a wolf pack will slowly drag an elk to the ground and tear it apart, a pride of lions will chase down and disembowel any number of animals, etc.

"carnal urges"

So if you're hungry (carnal urge) you're an idiot? I guess we're all fucktards by default, even vegetarians. Why are moral false dilemmas more important than carnal urges?

Your argument is circular garbage and it is entirely unsupported. Why does evaluation result in no longer eating meat?

You're god damn retarded.
>>
>>72046095
FUCKING TOP KEK!

There was a study saying that thanks to carbs we got a bigger brain, not meat. Otherwise Lions, wolves, and any other flesh eating animal must be Intelligent as fuck. Guess what those flesh eating animals are not eating? Yes, carbs.

We did explore, or got teached (Muh aliens) how to grow crops almost 150000 years ago.

Since that we grew a larger and larger brain.

My grandfather was a hippy, and never had eaten flesh, and died at 105.

He was active til 95.

He did eat eggs and sometimes cheese tho.

We had a farm, he just ate eggs, beans, wheat products, potatoes, cabbage and salad. Oh, he drowned a bottle of wine a day since he was 20 too.

Eating flesh is degenerate as fuck, because it makes us animals, that what /pol/ doesn't want to be, a fucking nigger animal.

Animals are the same as humans. This is a fact. Just because they can't think like we do, they are less worth?

Hitler would be ashamed, go and eat your estrogene infected chicken nuggets you fat burgers.

>>There seriously aren't climate change deniers on /pol/ right?

I think climate science is largely BS, Big Science is very prone to having totally wrong ideas for 20-40 years. However the precautionary principle applies, and the notion that we should be using our dwindling fossil fuel reserves to drive around and shitpost on /pol/ instead of transitioning to renewable or advanced nuclear is beyond retarded. I don't really think climate science is a conspiracy, although I am very skeptical of claims of runaway climate change, because the water vapor-clouds system is the most powerful factor in controlling temperature. CO2 and methane both cause a warming effect, but I find it hard to believe that the water vapor - cloud system does not have strong negative feedback characteristics.

We're also fucking up the environment in a bunch of other ways, and I have to imagine the polluters of the world are pleased that the average normie is focused on muh CO2 so that the huge number of other ways we abuse our home become irrelevant.

I do think the conspiracy theorists are largely right though, that muh carbon emissions will be used to get more control over people. I'm pretty sure that if burgerland / syrupland / britbongistan / eurabia are still functional places in a decade there will be all sorts of new taxes and regulations designed to increase government control and corporate profits in the name of muh environment.

It was actually a combination of a few things that gave us our bigger brain. Protein from meat was one. Control of fire was another. Once our ancestors learned how to control fire, food could be cooked. Cooked food is easier to chew and easier to digest. This meant that our bodies did not have to put as much energy towards growing large jaws and large digestive tracts. Not having to grow such large jaws and digestive tracts allowed the energy that would be used to grow those towards larger brain growth.

The other side of the cooking meme is that wild tubers are fibrous as fuck, which until grains were cultivated were the main source of carbohydrates, and cooking made them much easier to eat and more digestible and nutritious. You know how a sweet potato is kind of fibrous compared to a normal potato? It would be like that but much, much worse.

However before agriculture eating animals would have been the only way humans could have survived in most parts of the world.

Well if we're being technical pain is a state that requires consciousness. Simple reflexive response to injury or conditions that could injure is nociception. So by definition they can't experience pain without a consciousness. What exactly is required to have a consciousness is in debate but simple nervous systems like in shellfish or insects almost certainly can not form a consciousness.

An analogous examples would be this robot. It's programmed to react to "injury" but obviously it's not experiencing pain in the sense we think of it.

The brain needs sugar. Without it, it will cease to function.
HOWEVER, if the brain gets TOO much sugar, it can literally burn itself out with the sugar's energy, which leads to problems like insulin resistance. I disagree with your statement that carbs are great for short term power/physical output as a good high protein diet keeps the body energized without the extra sugar metabolizing into fat.
As a /fit/ graduate, I can firmly tell you the three necessary macronutrients, which includes carbs, are absolutely needed every day. The problem is amount.

Speciation, or better known as Macro-evolution, is a hypothesis. It's based off of theories such as micro-evolution where the idea sticks with cohesion. Although it has not been objectively proven (it can't be unless scientists observe that a derived population cannot reproduce with the original population), it is well-received by researchers because of the idea that continued mutation of a population segregated from the original suggests that such a change can occur.

Going Vegan won't help with global warming, it's and issue that needs to be handled on government (or greater) level through laws and regulations that deny corporations from destroying the environment and abusing people just to please stakeholders or to support the unsustainable growth based economy.

Too bad that I don't think we are unified enough to fix this shit with corporations lobbying, lawsuits, secrecy and propaganda to prevent any change that might force them and their leaders to take some actual fucking responsibility for their actions. We will probably need a devastating economic collapse of the western world or a huge natural disaster to bring the world to it's knees so people can see further a head than their own noses.

No shit. Meat != fats. Meat is an excellent source of fat. Beanut butter is not a paleolithic food item that was available to cavemen. We're arguing that meat was energy dense. I should probably add that cavemen didn't have access to legumes.
I'm moving the goalposts, I know. But the original argument was that meat is what is correlated with brain growth.

While we can most certainly survive without sugar, it would be quite difficult to eliminate carbs entirely from your diet. Carbohydrates are the body's main source of energy. In the absence of carbohydrate, your body will use protein and fat for energy.

Cutting out carbohydrates and replacing those calories with fats and higher fat sources of protein could increase your intake of saturated fat, which can raise the amount of cholesterol in your blood – a risk factor for heart disease.

When you are low on glucose, the body breaks down stored fat to convert it into energy. This process causes a buildup of ketones in the blood, resulting in ketosis. Ketosis as a result of a low carbohydrate diet can be accompanied by headaches, weakness, nausea, dehydration, dizziness and irritability particularly in the short term.

There a millions of doctors and most of them know very little about nutrition, having spent only one or two days on it during medical school, often back when everyone still believed the China Study. Fat is bad when mixed in with carbs because the carbs will keep your appetite going and of course the fat is highly concentrated energy. Don't fuck up the hunger killing benefits of fat by flooding your body with carbs at the same time.

No my friend, you are mistaken. Ketones are ok in the short term but eventually build up and cause AG metabolic acidosis which will kill you.
Please stop trying to confuse others.
>>
>>72065090
thats wrong, its true of type 1 diabetics who can't control ketone production but no one outside of them suffer from ketoacidosis

>particularly in the short term.
So short term discomfort in exchange for better health. That's something we adults like to call 'impulse control'. You put off pleasure in the present in order to have more in the future.

>it would be quite difficult to eliminate carbs entirely from your diet

You don't need to go to zero carbs. Just down to a level that your body can comfortably burn off quickly with your daily activities. Many people are able to consumer fifty carbs over the course of a day (so not all in a ten minute donut eating period) and stay in ketosis. Most vegetables have some carbs but most people on a low carb diet freely eat them because the amount of carbs and other macro nutrients are so low.

Don't worry, many doctors make the same mistake of confusing ketosis with ketoacidosis.

Negative, ketone production happens with any kind of prolonged fasting, it is meant as a last ditch survival effort right after consumption of AAs
>>
>>72065536
and low carb diets.

i know from personal experience.
>>
>>72065536
no one is suggesting fasting as a diet, how are ketones a last ditch survival effort? people who eat low carb never suffer from ketoacidosis

Haha evolution isnt real, homo. I hate vegans though.
>>
>>72065418
Look "adult" I'm not against lowering carb consumption of lowering meat consumption, there simply has to be a balance, carbs+animal protein etc etc, but people go either way, there is no in between with most vegans or "strict carnivor ppl"
>>
5 years vegetarian now, haven't been sick once.

i guess you never experienced ketosis. its not fun. its short term because its due to lack of glucose. once you start in taking glucose you recover.

its easier at the end of the day to eat carbs. the problem is people freak out and go crazy and indulge in large quantities. to make matters worse people don't eat other things to slow down digestions to control blood sugar level like fiber, fats, protein, and such.

really the problem with the american diet is the over indulgence of everything.

Just eat fucking cauliflower like a normal person. It isn't rice, its cauliflower made into a rice shape.
>>
>>72065834
this is a lie. i have myself. if your main source of glucose comes from carbs you can easily cause ketosis.

>Who gives a shit
Finfag delivering the truth
i can't give two dicks about animal abuse, cruelty or anything, i just like meat and for me to eat it it has to die first, so go figure. I mostly buy meat from my local butcher, where i am sure the animals were raised properly and the meat tastes amazing.

Also, i am not surprised about the correlation between meat consumption and brain capacity, as most vegetarians/vegans are totally fucking brainless. Like, not here, not present, not alert, maybe they are clever when their malnourished brains decide to start working, but most of the times you can identify a veggie just by that blank, hungry stare. As i say with my friends, do you know what does a vegan see when he opens his lunchbox? Sadness and sorrow.

If those people were smart they'd realise that morality is a spook.

oh no i understand that carbohydrate stored in the body lasts about a day before the body runs out of it my point is that people can eat a ketogenic diet without having to worry about ketoacidosis
>>
>>72066774
they can but they really have to watch their diet.

children for example should avoid a ketogenic diet all together as it easily can cause slowed or stunted growth, bone fractures and kidney stones. the diet reduces levels of insulin-like growth factor 1

really its simply easier to just watch your diet and not consume food like a crazy animal.

name me a source for that that doesn't use epileptic children

My daughter is vegan. She's 17 years old and she can make up her own mind. I just try to make sure that she gets nutritious food. So we have a garden with vegetables an apple tree and a pear tree. And a plumb tree. The climate is very cold here and we live up a mountain. It's very dry but always cold. All the rain gets dumped on the west side of the mountains, over Ireland and the west of England as the storms come from the Atlantic Ocean.
I just live on the east side. It fucking snowed today. That shouldn't happen in late April. So I am limited in what I can grow. Root vegetables like carrot, parsnip and turnip are easy.
Potatoes are easy too, if I can keep the bugs away.

We had fucking snow today. And high winds. Not much snow and it melted quickly when the sun came round. But it is always cold here. We eat a lot of vegetables in my household. Also eggs as I keep chickens, I don't use the chickens for meat. Only eggs. And the eggs are delicious. I sometimes get meat from the farmers' market every week, as I trust the farmers. And i go fishing for brown trout in pic. When I catch a trout, I kill it immediately by smashing its head on a rock. It's instant. I don't let any fish I catch suffocate by just putting it aside. That's a slow death. I always return smaller fish back to the river, and I never take a fish with eggs or ready to spawn. Sometimes I get salmon but only in late August to early October. They are very clever creatures. Hard to catch. They remember the layout of the river and are very strong. They always return to the same place every year to deliver their babies. Pic is the river where I fish. I look after the environment.
