The problem in Britain (England specifically) is it's focus on the class system, it's Left wing media, it's history as THE former superpower gained through big bad colonialism and the Labour governments immigration increase.
The focus on class has been ingrained into the minds of the British for generations. There is a big difference between each of the classes and it's rare for families to move up in the ranks without drastic changes. This has set in motion a defeatist attitude among low class Brits who believe they will be stuck doing the same thing for the rest of their life without and hope to change things. This type of attitude has increased over the years as the Empire crumbled and the media became more Left.
The left wing media (mainly the BBC, Channel 4 and 5 etc) pushed the idea into the working classes minds that what we did during the world wars was the single greatest thing any nation has ever done ever, yet everything else relating to our history was the absolute worst. Basically, helping others from persecution and suffrage is good but trying to make yourself better is bad. This implanted the idea in the already defeatist working class that they should strive to help others from different, non-British nations instead of improving your own nation like the Nazis tried to do and like how we used to do.

A lot of Yorkshire votes labour because of the class system. The majority of people in Yorkshire areas are lower class chavs, mudshits and old people. All 3 of these groups hate the conservative party because they're seen as rich and self centered and all 3 of those groups are generally the poorest.
