http://blog.dilbert.com/post/146307088451/why-gun-control-cant-be-solved-in-the-usa

>On average, Democrats use guns for shooting the innocent. We call that crime.
>On average, Republicans use guns for sporting purposes and self-defense.
>>
>>78748572
That was surprisingly reasonable and rational.
>>
>>78748572
Yeah, Scott Adams is surprisingly witty and insightful, despite the recycled heap of trash Dilbert has devolved into. I think it's like Jim Davis and Garfield: it has become so bland and safe that it is syndicated everywhere but the creators can't kill it or spice it up because they make way too much money on merchandise. Shame because their talent just goes to waste.
>>
>>78748572
Kek but true. My county votes primarily republican. Haven't had a democrat for sheriff since ever. Everyone comes into the store and when they open their wallets the CCW license is next to the drivers license about 7 times out of 10. Nobody shoots anybody. Opening day of deer season always sounds like skirmishing. My family has had guns in every home since emigrating here in the 17th century. There have been several DGUs in our family history but nobody ever killed anyone else.

I'm okay with banning democrats from having guns. Just leave me alone.
>>
My favorite part is how in every piece he goes out of his way to mentions he 'stands with her' for his own safety after San Jose.

every shitbag i know, (and I know a LOT of fucking shitbags) is one or more of the following, 1- a habitual user of illegal drugs, 2- a habitual user of perscription anti depressants, 3- currently or previously involved in some type of criminal enterprise, 4- a chronic criminal offender, 5- A habitual alcohol abuser.

most fall into category 1 or 2, but they're almost universally democrats
>>
>>78748574
That's the way of things, unfortunately. The real shame is that Adams can't distance himself from Dilbert and do something a little more daring without risking Dilbert and bring his entire income crashing down.
>>
>>78748574
The problem is that Dilbert has been running since the 1980s and there's only so far you can stretch a minimally-serialized comic strip. The 80s and 90s comics are actually amazing if you understand what business culture was like at the time. In a twisted way it makes me glad Calvin and Hobbes stopped, because that strip went out on a high note.
>>
>>78748577
If it actually said that I'd buy it.

Here's a compromise. Let's disarm the blacks only.

Three premises:
1) Democrats believe in affirmative action - in other words, that giving disproportionate good to an oppressed race is morally commendable, perhaps even morally obligatory.
2) Democrats believe that removing guns from the hands of people is a good, regardless of whether those people are criminally inclined.
3) Therefore, favoring blacks with disarmament is morally commendable, perhaps even morally obligatory.

So equality is out the window. They can't say it's unequal because they're the ones who said it's okay to favor one blacks over whites. They're the ones who said confiscating guns is a good thing. Hell, dems have said forever that guns aren't even a real right. So the only grounds on which to oppose it are those the pro-gun side has said forever: guns are needed for self-defense, guns are a right, or that confiscating some people's guns will only cause their criminals to acquire guns by other means.

The only hitch in the plan is that the crime rate might actually drop drastically. Dems will claim this proves that guns are bad. But if the numbers play out right, our gun crime level should drop to something comparable to Europe or Canada, at which point we force them to acknowledge that there really isn't a problem.

There are only so many jokes you can make about office culture. Modern political correctness bullshit makes it even more constrained. The change was just running out of jokes. There were a lot of silly business fads in the 80s and 90s, which helped create material.
>>
>>78748611
He explains at the end of here:

Also, you should check out his persuasion technique

Ever see Office Space? A lot of the shit that made up office existence in those days lead up to the stuff you see in there. A growing, but still clunky, electronic infrastructure, women having a greater presence beyond the annoying phone receptionist, management that still thought it was the 1960s etc. etc.
A lot of the things the Dilbert comics used to become so beloved and relatable are now either old-hat or just flat-out not applicable anymore.

Garfield was designed from the ground up as a marketing piece for licensing, and the comic since inception has been purposefully unfunny.

Repetitive, lame jokes that suburban housewives who like cats will enjoy which leads to them buying garfield merchandise.

There was never any kind of creative wit or humor in garfield at all. It was always about promoting a character that the creator could profit from, and nothing else.
>>
>>78748622
That being said, Garfield minus Garfield is one of the more entertaining things to have come out of it.

I've had some genuinely good laughs on that website.

I dunno.

There's always a profound danger that people will do exactly what they say they'll do.

We expect to Trump to be more rational than he lets on, but that's as much normalcy bias as legitimate extrapolation from his actions.

And I still don't trust a guy who's never held a government office before to get along with all the political hacks and corrupt scumbags that compose politics.
