This is what I've been saying about the referendum and the US election for months. These are the two most important votes in the modern history of the West.
If Leave loses the referendum, there will never be another. The EU will enact sweeping political reforms over Britain and the rest of the states with strong anti-EU voices to ensure that those voices are silenced.
If Conservatives lose this election in the US, they will never win another. Sweeping amnesty for illegal immigrants and Merkel-style open borders enacted by Clinton will swing enough states in the Southwest and Southeast to give the Democrats supermajorities in the House and Senate and enough points in the electoral college to win presidential races by default.
If Brexit fails, Britain becomes a vassal-state.
If Trump fails, the US becomes a one-party state.

This is the fatal flaw of the EU. Some seem to be realizing it, as comments from Tusk and Dijsselbloem seem to hint. But others want to go on full-tilt with their crazy, federalist project.
The biggest problem is that the EU does not seem to be able to get it through its thick skull what the people want. These idiots are actually patting themselves on the back for "weathering" the crises, while from here it looks like they've done nothing. They just waited it all out with token measures that only made life worse or more expensive for the common folk, and then they tell themselves they solved it!
The rapefugee crisis is as good an example as any. The only thing the EU has to do, is close the borders, make it clear Syrians and Iraqi's, and Syrians and Iraqi's alone get temporary shelter, and send everyone else back. Afghani, Pakistani, Moroccan? Back you go. Black African? Fuck off. You want a house? You get a tent. Houses go to citizens first.
But instead they set up a ferry service, encourage more migration, and get angry when any nation decides to pursue actual policy on its own.
The left must be stopped. The EU will become a leftist superstate if we do not stop it.
