Ex-Mossad head on Israel medical aid to al-Nusra Front

around 2:40 mins in he speaks about it

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vweHtxqnh-Y [Embed]

The former head of Israel's intelligence agency, Mossad, defends the country's treatment of al-Nusra Front fighters on the Syrian border.

In this web extra, Efraim Halevy tells Mehdi Hasan that he is not concerned that Israel had treated fighters in Syria from al-Nusra Front who some say is al-Qaeda's Syrian branch.

"It's always useful […] to deal with your enemies in a humane way," Halevy says.

When pressed on whether he believed the assistance was purely humanitarian Halevy responds, "I didn't say there's no tactical [consideration]. I said the main consideration, the immediate consideration is humane."

Halevy also says he would not support the treatment of wounded Hezbollah fighters because Israel had been targeted by Hezbollah, but "not specifically targeted by al-Qaeda"

I kinda get what he means by not wanting to assist Hezbollah - that would send a bad message back to Iran - in the Middle-East they prey on your weakness/soft-spot for them.
Still fucked up that they openly admit to helping the al-Nusra front - at least deny it publicly.

Also, I think they should stop immediately considering that Israel has a large Druze community that fights in the IDF and they protested at the hospitals (they also stormed the ambulance and killed the rebel while he was in the IDF's care) complaining how these rebels will just go back to Syria and killed the Syrian Druze.

Assad's days are numbered. Hopefully the new leadership of Syria in the future will be an Arabic one supported by the Arab world and Turkey. Contrary to your dreams, Syria consists of 80% Sunni arabs, after removing extreme elements, the newly formed government will most likely be hugely Turkey backed. Since Turkey took care of Syrians the most, this is a long term strategy that guys like you are oblivious to.
Assad is a dictator who killed most civilians with airstrikes in 5 years. Shitty media like Press TV and RT News propaganda cannot change facts

On that issue, Russia can only intervene in the case Armenia itself is attacked, as a part of CSTO.

Otherwise, Vlad's hands are tied in Nagorno Karabagh case. Since it is still formaly a part of Azerbaijdan if Russia intervened on Armenian side, covertly or overtly, they would be unilateraly labled as the aggressor and reactions of the west would be more severe than the sanctions like in the Ukraine case.

Something like total ban on access to the western financial markets, freezing russian elite's assets abroad, suspension from UN Security Council...

Concerning Nagorno, Armenia is alone.

this is hard to resolve. armenians were majority in Naghorno Karabakh (76%) which has no border to Armenia
Also they hold 3 times more lands than the majority armenian parts and due to that 700 000 Azeris are refuges from Karabakh. Armenians dont have any rights to hold the azeri populated areas, so they have to live inside Azerbaijan anyways. that's why they won't give up, so we won't either

Interesting. What caused that division of Armenians?

And another question is why Kurds tend to take sides with Armenians, even though they were also eradicated from the non-NG occupied areas in Azerbaijan (as your map shows).

it is long history of dispute, but when the USSR began to fall apart Karabakh armenians wanted to join armenia and did referendum which didn't include azeris. then they began deporting azeris from Armenia (with violence especially). and ethnic conflict began. Russia fueled it by giving both sides weapons etc. it is long story..
But Kurds from that area fought with us and are refugees in other parts of Azerbaijan. we don't have problems with them

In the next few years, Turkey is going to get destroyed and divided.

The US is going to prop up Kurdistan to justify US presence in the area, and they're going to parade the Kurds as their new ally liberated from Syria. However Syrian Kurds are a small fringe of the real population of Kurds in the area and they will be vocal about it, and the increasingly belligerent Turks are going to dismiss them and the millions of oppressed Kurds within their borders. The Turks are not allies with Russia like Syria, and are distancing themselves from the West with their behavior towards their new Kurdish pawn. They're isolating themselves as their government becomes more unstable, and they're either going to be couped by a Western puppet or couped by a military dictatorship which will launch themselves into war with Kurdistan and by proxy the US and several of it's allies.

Turkey is becoming a liability to the US and their control in Syria through their Kurdish proxy. You already see reports and news trying to paint Erdogan in a bad light, the US wants to solve the Turkish problem with a regime change to a less hostile puppet. Judging from Turkish character, this is becoming increasingly unlikely.

Eventually it will reach a point where the Western mass media will begin to paint Erdogan and Turkey as evil and as terrorist enablers, probably bringing out the same evidence that they funded and supplied FSA/ISIS that they tried to cover up a few years ago. There's already a massive media shift to criticizing Turkey and it's government, eventually they'll be the new Iraq, and Russia and the US will probably participate in the invasion together, especially with a Trump presidency.

That's just my projection, I haven't found a reason to think otherwise.

Turkey is the antithesis of Russia. Fancies itself an Empire with eyes on Russian Imperial clay, run by radical Islamists, 100% Muslim population. Russia is better off arming Turkey's opponents.

Turkey is an internally unstable country with enemies on literally all sides.

The only benefit Russia gets from an alliance with Turkey is a client that will always want arms. At the same time, that client wants to kill you.

The other nations I listed would make better allies IMO once they've gotten out of this economic death grip by Turkey and the EU.

You have no idea what youre talking about. Turkey has been seeking full independence for its military for about 30 years now. Theyre very successful at that.

Syria is an even more unstable country and russia has proven to be of help for its allies in need.

These generals corruptes your brain. You shut out any fact going against what you feel.
>>

Turkey is a part of NATO and is generally seen a Russian enemy, especially right now. Down the line they might, but normally post invasion governments become "democracies" that are on Western leashes.
>>75900683
They'll maintain most of their inherent territory, maybe lose a bit on the southeast to bridge Syrian Kurdistan with Iraqi Kurdistan, but the country isn't going to be divided too bad. The West would want to decapitate their conservative leadership and disarm them so they can't interfere anymore.
>>75900778
Kurds are a vocal minority population in several countries. Syrian Kurds especially. If the US is going to force this small community to develop a nation, it only makes sense that this nation will stretch into it's ethnic heartland which lies in southeast Turkey.
>>
>>75901612
>Turkey has been seeking full independence for its military for about 30 years now. Theyre very successful at that.

This trend has been reversed in recent years.

Syria only became highly unstable recently, vs. Turkey which has a long history of internal strife with a disgruntled population of 15 million Kurds.

Amnesty International accuses Kurdish YPG of war crimes

In a 38-page report, "'We Had Nowhere Else to Go': Forced Displacement and Demolition in Northern Syria,” Amnesty International catalogues allegations of forced evictions of Arabs and Turkmens and the destruction of their homes and property. “In some cases, entire villages have been demolished, apparently in retaliation for the perceived support of their Arab or Turkmen residents for the group that calls itself the Islamic State,” Amnesty International noted. Villagers said they were ordered to leave at gunpoint, their livestock shot at. The watchdog used satellite imagery and video footage to verify the claims.

In the Arab village of Husseiniya near Tell Hamees, for instance, only a single house was left standing. Residents said the YPG had razed their homes in February. In Raneen, near Tell Abyad, locals said YPG forces had threatened to shoot them if they failed to leave. One person said, “They told us we had to leave or they would tell the US coalition that we were terrorists and their planes would hit us and our families. In Raneen, where some people were with IS, there were lots of problems but we had nothing to do with anything.” Alleged YPG threats of calling in US airstrikes against villagers if they didn’t leave are repeated throughout the report.

army is too strong and united for that to happen. also every time westerners start shit against us it just unites the turkish parties. against the german genocide recognition akp+chp+mhp just released a joint statement of condemnation
also the turkish civilians haven't started doing anything yet. mhp, which has a militant organization recognized as a terrorist organization in many states, is awfully quiet on the physical front of things within turkey
if there was any chance of a kurdistan emerging from within turkey all the different parties would unite against it and there would be inter-communal warfare between turks and kurds, which would end badly for the kurdish minority
and i don't think anyone is planning to go to war with us, it would be extremely destabilizing for europe. united states couldn't even wrap up in iraq, turkish insurgency against an invasion force would continue for a century

No senpai, one was a true Ruski and the other two were half-breeds with Israeli, Azeri and Russian passports but all went to study in Russia. None were Azeri and they were quite open about this. I know they couldn't speak Azeri because they couldn't communicate with the train attendant who only spoke Azeri. Like I said, Quba and the mountains were pretty great. I was only there for 5 days and I heard that other parts in the north west are cool (eg. This place where you go and bathe in oil?). Maybe if they ease visa restrictions I'll go back one day but atm it is quite expensive / a hassle to get a visa to visit. I am going to sleep azeribro but enjoy this picture of an Armenian tavern in Jerusalem

They took it without firing a single shot on a deal that they'd let in all civilians from Marea and Azaz into the Afrin Canton without any issue, research before you post nigger.

Alright /sg/, answer me this... you have just moved to Syria(Don't question it, you just have), what will you do to help the Government, improve the economy, or whatever it is you choose to do? you are not limited in what you do, you can start a business, build churches, engage in charity, aid in government reform and etc.

My only skill that is worth is IT, so I would work in whatever the government needs on that area. In the army I would be used as cannon fodder so there is no reason to join, maybe join the NDF in case some terrorists attack my town/city.
