The people who shout racist/sexist/whatever are progressive liberals. Both parts of that title are a lie because they are not particularly interested in either social progress and the betterment of all people or in espousing the values of liberty and freedom. They throw around words like "racist" and "sexist" as an easy way to silence opposing viewpoints, they often endorse forms of censorship and thought/language-policing as well.
In truth, racists are spread out amongst pretty much every political ideology imaginable, and very few people are actually racist in the proper sense of the word. If I could throw you some advice for the future, don't take somebody else's word when they are describing another person's character to you.
