Canada is not postnational, it is a postcultural country. Not only was "Canadian culture" diluted, but even the newcomers end-up with all the noble and traditional aspect of their culture diluted in the common mix. The only dominant culture is a brand of anglo-american tittytainement for the masses.
That is utterly disturbing, most people around me did not seem to care or realize that they lived in an acultural country and that all the formidable things that makes life so enjoyable, all the idiosyncracies that an old, powerful and alive culture provides you with and that become core component of your idenitty, all those things were missing. I had to come back home.
I was living in Southern-Ontario, near Cambridge btw. Also spent six months in Toronto. My only advice would be to gtfo Canada as soon as possible and go live in Europe or Asia to see what it is like.
