I do ruler and compass constructions to make these shapes. I want to make a truncated dodecahedron but have had some difficulty trying to draw and glue it. Anyone else like polyhedra?
Just google it. You'll get templates to print or just get inspiration of.
No printer. Looking at templates has helped with most of these shapes. Its the left over angles left for gluing for this particular shape thats the hardest to work with.
On a related note, does anybody here have Great Stella? (software for 'designing' polyhedra and printing their nets) It's too expensive for me, and the fact that the demo version is so crippled that it's practically useless pisses me off.
Hey /po/ me and a friend are making a web series involving making origami and other papercraft, mainly stuff without the need of cutting. We would like as many instructions as possible. Hard, easy, impossible, all are welcome. One thing we really need is an origami heart, I know it's pretty easy, but we need the instructions, preferably with step by step text.
Fucking Newfag. Get off of this board.

Fuck you.
I would like to know what type of paper is best terms of longevity/mold-ability/strength as well as how to seal that paper from moisture damage. It also has to be aesthetically pleasing and able to hold bends and curves much like regular paper, which is why I'm not going to use cardboard. Also what is the strongest glue/way of jointing said material together?
The only thing I could think of is this stuff called "chipboard", but I don't have a sample to verify it's integrity.

Hey Guys, I'm currently looking for the chokipeta Lucario that goblinguy posted in this thread a long time ago. Did anyone save a copy on their hard drives?
>>535028
I don't have this one anymore (I've had it and build it a few years ago, but lost the files when my hard disc died), but there is another Lucario by tenpepakura that seems very similar to the Chokipeta one:

(I would be thankful as well if the Chokipeta model resurfaced, though.)

Love it! I did the Meowth Hot air Ballon a little ago. This will be fun to do too! Thanks
damn it, there are just too many papercrafts that have gone missing as time passed...
I don't know if anybody can help me with this...
I remember seeing a post here once of a character from I think mass effect coming out of the wall. It was a female bust, and she was blue and it was super cool.I remember a bunch of people trying to get the model with no luck. Did anyone ever find it/design it themselves? I'm sorry if I'm vague or incorrect, I don't remember all the details. I'm trying to find it now is all.
I don't have it, but it was Cortana from Halo
This?
OP Here. I'm thinking it might actually be someone from Starcraft. The name Terran Adjust maybe? I know there was a huge project here over it
Hey guys, got a weird question for you. I've been folding little stuff and having a friend put them on earring findings and selling them. I've stuck with traditional folds to avoid copyright, but there's some I can't figure out if they're copyrighted or not.
Is the Kawasaki rose copyrighted? Anyone have a way to find out, I've looked all over.
Also, small ass origami stuff.
Yes. The Kawasaki rose is a copyrighted model.
Sell locally to avoid getting caught and sued.
Nothing wrong with selling things you fold at a local crafts fair/flea market.
The only people that will tell you otherwise are asshurt designers and their dickriding fanbois.

Thanks, I read a few different sites, some were claiming you couldn't teach someone else how to make a fricken model without the author's permission, that's a bit anal.
I am curious about the "transformative" part of copyright, how much do you have to change something? we are ending up with a new product than the original.....
>>535983
Origami copyright guidelines are all baloney.
They don't have a leg to stand on.
They won't come after you unless you're making thousands like that one painter.
Can you guys make anything that's actually useful, instead of folded trash that just take up desk space?
You completely missed the point of papercraft.
Yes, I mostly make practical things. Envelopes in special sizes or of recycled paper, boxes for organizing and shipping, templates for woodwork and machining, sewing patterns, lamp shades, drafting templates, photo mats, bound books, thread spools, laminated cardboard machine components, and many others.
The skills required for papercraft have much overlap with those required for other disciplines. Sheet metal fabrication, other fabrication, sewing/patternmaking, woodwork, machining, graphic art, prototype development, printmaking, and I'm sure dozens of others....

I have been using a normal printer from Wal-Mart I bought a few years back and it works well with cardstock I bought a bit back but that's too thin for what I need currently I run into a problem trying to print anything much thicker. It jams or won't feed at all. I had some limited success by opening the back and forcing the thicker sheet through (the printer feeds front in a U shape and back out like most)
Are there printers that feed thicker poster board or feed paper in a flat motion rather than the U bend

I'm planning to get a cutplotter for xmas. The models I've been looking at feed in a straight line through the device, so they should handle cardstock just fine.
