HANDCRAFTED CONSTRUCTION

With years of knowledge and experience, the skilled and dedicated team of technicians at the Zenit Factory in Russia has produced the lens to the highest quality. In addition to having a modified 0.7m closest focusing distance (an improvement from 1m on the original lens), the New Jupiter 3+ Art Lens is directly compatible with L39 and M mount rangefinder and mirrorless digital cameras, as well as many more using adapter mounts. Constructed from chrome-plated solid brass, the New Jupiter 3+ Art Lens is much more durable than the original Jupiter 3 lens, which was made out of aluminum, so it will last for many, many years to come.

A combined effort by our experienced team and manufactured at the exact same Zenit factory in Russia as the original, the New Jupiter 3+ Art Lens retains the strong character and Soviet spirit of the original lens — crisp sharpness, smooth, natural colors and lush, dreamy bokeh — while transcending its forbearer in many ways.

In the same excellently compact design and classic demeanor, we recalculated the technical specifications of the original Jupiter 3 to make this extremely special lens far more accessible for today’s photographers. It’s compatible with L39 and M mount cameras, as well as a large range of other cameras using adapter mounts.

The New Jupiter 3+ Art Lens is being produced in small batches and thus will be available on a very limited first-come, first-served basis. Head to the Lomography Online Shop to secure your very own!

INTO THE FUCKING TRASH IT GOES.

The only thing they did right was to make it marginally cheaper than the voigt 50 1.5

>INTO THE FUCKING TRASH IT GOES.
It's a copy of a copy of a fucking pre-war Zeiss, why would you expect modern threading?

The same factory makes a F/EF mount 50/1.2 for $250 if for some reason you really want a brand new Russian fifty that doesn't suck balls.
>>
>>2878961
Why do people buy shit lenses like this. New and three times better lenses are readily available new.
>>
>>2879299
>why would you expect modern threading
Question for you m80.

Why wouldn't you expect a more modern thread? They already went and changed the lens. All this does is make step up/down rings almost mandatory.

Why not just buy another fucking 50 instead?

as a reproduction,New Jupiter 3+ is worth to pay 600$ enough
used are only cheap and bad condition
owners might do cleaning and assemble

ok, I usually like shooting russian glass cause it's fun and the results can only be better than what you expected, but $600 is ridiculous. I mean seriously.. you can get a used nokton 1.5 for that and the build quality, as well as the iq are a lot better at any cv lens than at any russian glass I ever used.
apart from that: lomo hipsters are going to buy it as they did with that petzval shit because it seems to be vintage and more important: it gives a feel of being something special.
Especially the latter seems to be the most important factor justifying lomography sells...

Jupiter-3 shows us it's lifetime over half-century!!
Now you can purchase a lens available over 50years
Just 600$!!!!1!!1
Only $600 is cheaper than any other lens!!

I think some people could see price of it's value are ridiculous.
>>
Isn't the main reason people buy russian lenses, because they are cheap but have decent price-performance?
So if you now quadruple the price...

For comparison, you can buy a brand new, Zenit-made Helios 40-2 85mm f/1.5 (which already has an over-inflated price because of its internet popularity) for just over half that.
>>
>>2879431
>They already went and changed the lens.
But they didn't. They just extended the helicoid back a little, all of the other rings look exactly the same. With their talk of small limited batches, I wouldn't be surprised if some of the parts they're using are old Soviet ones that sat in a warehouse.

No, not that.
