I really can't argue with that. But it's one of those things that you really have to get involved in to 'get'. But i'll briefly try to explain:

Imagine the city as a canvas. As you walk to work, to school or just around, you see pieces of art everywhere. You get to know artists, recognize their style, where they write, what ink they use and their different tags/throwies. And this canvas is constantly evolving. New pieces get put in hard-to-reach places, walls with awesome pieces get buffed, people write over others and sometimes beef ensues, out-of-towners tear a city up and OG's make rare apperances. But there is no entry to this canvas, anybody can join. But the thing is, you can't just write shit and expect to last. You'll get dissed, written over, or buffed (since you're probably writing on easy-to-get-to spots). So after your first line, you get rattled. Why would he do that to me? My tag was good wasn't it? But eventually you use this anger to get back to the page and write more, try new styles, practice with your ink and above all else, get back out there and paint.

tl;dr: For writers, graffit is like going to an art gallery where you actually know all the artists. Bonus points if you have always loved penmanship and kerning and whatnot

The political message is all about the black tide from Amsterdam's inner city (see Amsterdam Central sign on train) pushing into the suburbs and the native Europeans' white flight response. Nothing sums up this concept better than a caricature of black Africans, fresh off the boat from the Third World, arriving in sleepy Dutch villages. Notice how the graffiti text is composed at the same level as the white woman's head, implying she's thinking the very same phrase as she stares directly at the black African. The dropped knapsack and her hunched shoulders perfectly illustrate the disdain and dismay she feels in the situation.
