ill just say that its a bit weird that shes just standing in the forest. i would like if she were doing something like kicking at leaves or brushing her hand along a branch as she walks. just normie stuff that one would do passing through trees. also idl aspect ratio
I Post my pictures almost anywhere but all I ever get AT BEST is "there's no object in there
I really try hard with colour grading via liftgammagain rather than colourzones recently

The colour contrast is okay. What is the subject, though?. Also focus. I think that might be why it doesn't feel like there's a subject. If those mushrooms popped a bit more, their being obscured by grass, or being framed by it, might come off better.
Clearly you're looking for decent subjects, though. That's something you should keep up.

uhhh you got the focus right i guess..
But picture is really flat and leaves in the front are very distracting

Yeah I'd agree with anon above. If you had a little bigger DoF and got both mushrooms in focus, the picture would seem a lot stronger.
Colors and lighting are cool though

I like the pic on the left
I don't think that can really be done with single pictures. You would need to look at the whole recent work of the artist and also perhaps ask for what he tries to achieve with his photographs to give him meaningful critique.
Photography is not like painting where you could tell someone to improve anatomy or shading etc.
What do I do with extreme colours, especially blue.
In this image, the blanket was SO AGGRESSIVELY BLUE that I had to use Colour Zones (once ago my favourite toool, now I try to avoid it) to turn down the saturation on all blues.
In other pictures I might not have this option.
Also, what do I do when almost nothing is seperated by brightness so I cant properly use lift-gamma-gain to seperate areas/objects/colours?

too much space with nothing in it. The bottom 1/3rd of the image adds nothing to it. I like the effect, but you need a better location and better composition.
>>2868416
The subject is potentially interesting except you haven't done anything with it. It's just a picture of a pole. Composition is non-existent. Color looks straight out of camera. It's just not a good image, sorry senpai.
Once you find an interesting subject, work with it. Think of all the interesting angles and scenes you can capture with it. Don't just take one photo and move on, take 5/10/20 until you find a shot that works.
>>2868856
better than your other photo. color is fine, subject stands out well. needs more context, but it's better than the other image.
>>2863021
Good Color, interesting composition. The right image is my favorite of the two. I'd like to see a series of photos similar to this.
>>2868892
The subject was supposed to be the plant so-to-say breaking off the pole ("symbolic").
I have numerous shots but decided to use the one I took on the lowest level because from above it just looks dumb.
Colour was Green-Magenta contrast increased, Green saturation up, all other saturation down.
In this one I played with the colours more.
What exactly do you mean by "bad composition"?
Should I used less background or a different one? I was thinking about going far away and then zooming all the way in to take some of the background away.

throw away the red filter.

get closer, have it dominate your frame. Just enough dof to clearly separate the subject from the background while not completely blurring the remaining poles into obscurity. Not sure if you can do that easily with that tiny sensor.
Your colors are fucked it looks like an early digital camera which is not pleasant. Red and green are far too saturated; my eye is drawn to the red on the apartment, trees in the background, and that strip of red behind the pole.
Try to do some lens corrections as well and I think there is some green ca on the streetlight but these last two gripes are just "good hygiene" and not major.

would have been interesting with animals in the yard. I think the fence frames it, its not bad. Either pirate lr 5 or just work an extra hour a month to pay for it.
>>2873348
Yeah, I did get the horse peeking out through the door, but the animals dont come out until the daytime, and the lighting wouldnt be as good
>>2871177
I will ignore the technical deficiencies of the image for a moment.
Good: Like the visual "pun" with both the lampshade and bear leaning in the same direction. The light makes the image. You kept everything in the frame (barely at top, though). The horizontals are indeed horizontal.
But - the image is not balanced - which a statement like this needs. It's weighted far too much to right of frame - which basically leads the viewer right off the image. Bye-bye. Too much dead space and dark space at left. Too tightly cropped at top. Not by a ton, but by enough to matter.

not bad, a little saturated tho
>>2873606
Try to get rid of those abberrations. Also, oversaturated. Try to blow out colours and then desaturate everything with global values.
The subject is centered, try to keep a 1/3 2/3 theme in your pictures, but given it's a sports-shot, it's pretty good framing
>>2873567
There's no reasonable explanation for the image.
If you are focusing on the structure or geometry of your image (call it composition & framing) - break the elements down.
If you can't visualize it - quint until everything is blurry.
You can see that there's not even a pleasing sense of chaos in this image. It's just imbalanced all around.

The two edges of the grill are running through the 2/3 line. The green in the opposite half of the image is contrasting to the red.

in retrospect I wish I had framed the horizon on the top third line, but I'm a sucker for blue skies still.
>>2873841
Consider the visual weight of the elements. First, it is true that reds and greens contrast well enough - but the image has a few recognizable objects - a bike, a hose, a grill, garbage can.
All of that is in the right side of the image. Recognizable objects carry more visual weight than things like foliage, bricks, the ground, etc. Account for that as well.
It's good that you're thinking about contrasting elements, color, etc. and where to place the main subject in the frame - but just placing one visual element on a thirds line doesn't really mean much on its own.
The image really doesn't work.
>>2863021
As for this diptych. I might not have kept the wire in the left panel but it does at least break up a certain monotomy. The flowers in foreground and home in background create almost a vague symmetry about the centerline, which is pleasing. The rough symmetry in shape is of course disrupted by the contrasts in color, distance and subject. The image would work much less with a shallow DoF.
The right panel carries the color concept and flower in from the left panel, and is nicely dominated by strong verticals. The visual weight of the "walk sign" works, as it's balanced against the diagonals and the building at right. Rule of thirds would suck here.
I really believe you're on the wrong track if you feel these images are poorly composed vs yours.
>>2873848
You had to make some choices. There's a cloud at top of frame that would have been cut off if you moved the horizon much more up - but maybe it would be nice to see where that angle with the oar/boat meets.
While the water horizon is around halfway - the mountain tops average to something close to the golden ratio, which isn't the worst thing in the world.
Not ideal, but another choice may not have been substantially better.
I was having a hard time with them moving around so this was the best I got of them.

You can be harsh
>>2874468
The top tip of the cake is out of focus, and I feel like the texture of the cake is too sharpened, which makes it look somewhat unappealing to me. Maybe try to make it look softer.
I don't like the reflection of the cake plate in the glass on the right.
Other than that, I think it looks good. Then again, I've never done food photography in my life, so dont really know what to look for in it
